C-100 travel battery pack
C-100 travel battery pack
This new product has come on the CPAP.com site. Anybody try it yet. Without the humidifier and heated hose; this looks good and convenient! I'm sure there are similar products out there. Anybody try them/
Re: C-100 travel battery pack
It looks like the C-100 capacity is about 100 watt-hours (equals 8.3 amp-hours). As long as you don't also power a humidifier, it should get you through one night, but not another. For that kind of capacity, it seems awfully expensive at about $300. Still, that seems competitive with other lightweight Lithium-ion CPAP battery packs out there. I've looked at the Respironics lead-acid battery pack (https://www.cpap.com/productpage/respir ... -pack.html), which also goes for about $300, but is rated at 14.4 amp-hours.
As with all health equipment, prices for CPAP batteries seem outrageous to me. I've carried around a battery pack similar to the Respironics one to power photographic lights. A Bescor MM12XL photographic lead-acid battery pack is rated at 12 amp-hours and only costs $100.
I'm really tempted to buy a bare 12v Lithium-ion battery pack from eBay. You can buy a 15 amp-hour pack for only $70. Admittedly, the included charger is a joke and would have to be replaced. Also, I would have to get an adapter to the cigarette lighter plug on my CPAP 12v battery cable.

Re: C-100 travel battery pack
I just purchased a C-100. I’m trying it out now. I agree with you that the prices are too big for this power. But the convenience of having something that is light weight is worth a try. I have found that if gear is too complicated and cumbersome I tend not to use it. If this is successful I can take it with me always. Thus avoiding the mess of power outages. Thanks for responding….this battery thing is a real problem for many people. I have a deep cycle 12v pack. But it’s too heavy to lug around!
Re: C-100 travel battery pack
Here are the results of my first night testing the C-100 battery.
Therapy was 7 hours 42 minutes.
Minimum pressure was 10 H20.
Maximum pressure was 10.50H20
The battery indicated it still had 50% power left!!!!
The humidifier and heated hose were off. I filled the humidifier tank but left it off. I find this reduces the sound. When I first plugged the battery and turned on the machine with a heated hose; the amber humidity light came on. The heated hose was off and the humidifier was off; but the amber light was blinking. I went into the setup and turned everything off at that level and the amber light was still blinking. I think that the battery or the PR 60 was detecting the possibility of too much power draw even though there was nothing on except the APAP. What I did was turn the machine off and switch to a 22mm hose. No more blinking lights! I slept with the humidifier off but connected and a 22mm hose. When I woke up I tried to power the unit with humidity; the amber humidity light was blinking again. It looks like it worked but can’t be sure. At that point the battery fell to below 50%.
Someone should fully test the battery, with other machines, under sleeping conditions. I have AFLEX at 1. This uses power but the battery worked fine with this.
The results, in my opinion is that this battery was very successful.
This battery is very convenient. A marine battery will give more service. But it’s very hard to go biking with!!!!!!!!!!!!! This battery is so small you can put it in the glove compartment of your car. It has been my experience that if something is not convenient I have a tendency of not using it. If you need a power backup for power outages, this will work fine. If you need humidity the humidifier attachment for the Z1 may do the trick. If you need to go overnight to a hotel or anywhere else this battery is the answer. You can through it in your car and forget about it.
What I do not know is how the battery would perform with the second battery attached. This should give sustained power. I wonder if the amber light would blink its warning. CPAP.com should test this. We all want to be free. Well this battery, with the proper attachment, works with the Z1. I wonder if anyone will ever test this with the Z1?
