I just voted yes although I would qualify that by stating that as long as someone isn't using cpap.com as their own storefront which I realize is tough to quantify.

It's up to them(cpap.com)...it doesn't matter what we think.

I do think that the OP is looking to sell something..................

Personally, I think there should be a minimum length of time here AND useful posts, not just selling stuff. I don't mind the few regulars who post and help out people with reasonable prices. They are trustworthy, and they don't post too often.

I really hate seeing sellers who join just to sell something and then disappear. They have no credibility here, many come in expecting to sell at high prices since they only know the retail price that the DME charged, and some have cheated people here. Some of them post every day until their item is sold. This forum is here to help people, and seeing posts every day with for sale stuff takes away from that. Lately, we have had a LOT of new people here just to sell something, and it is getting worse.

I have no problem with somebody starting a new forum just to buy and sell CPAP equipment, and then post a weekly link to that forum.

I agree - maybe try no selling for the first 90 days then only a certain number per year - but not sure without heavy moderation that would keep out the pro blogger sales people. I have transacted both ways here.

If there were a "for sale" thread or sub-forum, we could have a strict set of rules on what the content could be - must list model number, number of hours, age, real photos, payment types, and contact info. That would make it really easy to moderate and new users would be less likely to get something they really didn't want, and new sellers wouldn't be able to just drive by.

There used to be cpapauction but the Resmed threatened our host for having it. The manufacturers don't like that kind of market.

Use paypal and get the security of having your purchases safely covered. If they don't want to use it then don't buy from them.

What's it to ya?

Are you one of the forum owners?

If not, I suggest you leave the decision up to them.

If they're going to allow random people to use this forum as a public marketplace to buy and sell prescription medical items, might as well use it for everything else too. Anyone got any morphine pills? Percosets? I'm sure there's plenty of people willing to pay top dollar.

*snort* you can't be serious! I guess I should be locked up for the high I'll get from the spare mask I just bought from the benefit sale then? Durable medical equipment is NOT the same as prescription medication and you know it. I work in home health, caregivers and patients buy/sell/trade DME all the time, even when a prescription was required to obtain the items in the first place. It's no different than selling a pair of crutches or a shower bench, it's incumbent on the buyer top use them responsibly and not bludgeon someone to death with them.
