AHI 56.9, O2 saturation lowest 78%, desat events 346

Hi all,

I finally got to have a sleep lab after decades of waking up feeling drugged or poisoned. Lack of O2 will do that to you.

Anyone have a result this bad or worse? I didn't feel like it went that badly. I woke up kind of alert at the sleep lab and couldn't "pass back out." Literally what I normally do, I guess.

Why does breathing have to be so complicated? I also have a seriously deviated septum, with 80% blockage in one side, and 40% blockage in the other side, even after 2 surgeries. So, here we go. I hope for some relief, even if I have to rig up something to prop my lips apart at night. I don't open my mouth... just slowly go with less and less air.

My AHI was 53 and believe it or not we have forum members with AHI over 100.
My O2 went to 73% and we have forum members in the 60 and 50%.
No matter how bad off we think we are there's always someone who beats us.

Your numbers are virtually identical to mine. CPAP has been a life changer for me. Thanks to pure luck and suggestions from my brother and brother in law (both CPAP users for 8+ yrs), I was able to request a mask that was a perfect choice for me (Swift FX Nasal Pillows) at the time, so I was able to get 7 hrs of use on the 1st night and woke up feeling great.
