Thankful for this forum - Issues with the SD card

Post by Rogue » Wed Aug 20, 2014 11:58 pm

I am so thankful for this forum. I started having problems with my cpap machine last Aug 18, 2014. Every time I turned on the machine it beeped endlessly until i pressed the button. Also there was an error on the screen.
I installed Encore Pro on my new Windows 8.1 PC because I could not log into Encore Por on my Windows 7 laptop. I forgot the password.

So, after so long, I logged back in. Got the link for Sleepyhead. Downloaded and Installed. Then tried to Import data from the SD.

Yes! I got all my data from Aug 31, 2011 to Aug 17, 2014. That means there were days I did not get to use the machine. My bad.

Then I copied the SD files to a folder on my PC and deleted the files from the SD Card

So... now is the time to see if the machine will be able to write to the SD Card....

Will let you guys know what happens...

Just in case please leave some tips here for me to see tomorrow. Gotta sleep...

Not sure why you would delete the files from the SD card? However, most of the data should be available on the machine (unless you changed machines). If you need to copy the files from the PC back to the SD card, make sure you are not duplicating the files because of different folder names. The new set of data may have a different folder name.

Thankful for this forum - Having issues with my SDcard

Post by Rogue » Thu Aug 21, 2014 6:41 pm

Hmmm...
Encore Pro 2
When I go to Data Card Utilities and select Preview card - message is 'The media belongs to the current patient.'
When I select Download card and click 'Download'' - message is 'Media read successfully - The card data is not valid and was not saved. Contact Product Support for assistance.'

in SleepyHead the card data is imported and I can see the report.
What is going on???

Exactly which version of Pro are you using....all the numbers.
Exactly which model machine are you using?

This normally shows up when the software is not compatible with the machine itself. Pro 2.13 is a long ago version. Not sure why it would have worked in the past with your machine and not now unless it broke or maybe you got a newer machine.
Anyway, check your private messages as I sent you some information on getting the latest Pro version which works on all the machines and even Windows 8.1 (and older).

No I don't think so.

Crap,,,,I just realized that you already have the latest version...I just sent you the same thing again.

I don't know why you are getting that message. I have 5 different PR S1 machines in my Encore Pro.

You might try creating a new user profile and see what happens.

Installed Encore Basic 2.4 and tried to download the data.

Errors.
Media read successfully - The card data is not valid and not saved. Contact Product Support for assistance.
also
The media does not belong to an EncoreBasic patient.

Do you have a new/blank SD card that you can use and try again?

Surprisingly though it can be read by Sleepyhead.

Just some other observations. The SD card only has 216KB left free space.
I deleted the files yesterday, but they are all back plus yesterday's data just by deleting in windows and also erasing using EncorePro.
Does the machine keep data from way back 2011 and writing it all back to the SD card?

I will have to buy a new SD Card.

I thought the machine only stored for 365 days the data that it stores long term but I very well could be wrong.
Long term data would be hours of use and AHI and maybe some pressure or leak averages. The machine never stores the flow rate (wave form in Encore) which are the xxx.005 files and that's why the SD card has to be in the machine to be able to see flow rate.

You can go into the folder where all the files are (it's a sub folder under the machine serial number folder) and look for the oldest files. 3 main file types for data. xxx.001, xxx.002 and xxx.005. I thought that some of the older xxx.001 and xxx.002 files were written over after 30 days but maybe not if your SD card is nearly full.

I have no explanation as to why Encore wants to spit out your SD card. We have eliminated the known possible culprits except the SD card itself. That would be the next step if it were me. Get a new SD card (generic works fine) and put it in the machine and let it put whatever data it has stored in its internal memory to the SD card and then use it one night and the next day see what it happens with Encore.

When you get the new card and look at the files it puts on the SD card you should be able to see how far back the files go.
The modified date is for the night before. Like last night's data files will have a modified date of 8/22/14 on them.

There may be some residual on the card and just deleting the files didn't clear it off.
Since the card is not readable, try doing a complete format of the card and start over.

Then put the card in the cpap machine and let it re-write the data.
Encore should be able to read the card and report no data.
BTW what was the error that showed on the LCD screen? Perhaps that will be informative.
