Remstar Plus M series, does this have a SIM card?

Post by R.G. » Tue May 05, 2015 4:32 pm

Respironics, Model 200M. It's old, from 2008, but I need to see if I can get a usage or compliance report from it. Been using it the entire 7 years and I swear by it. Maybe there is another way? I have to give the report to my Employers Doctor.
Thank you
Russell

SIM cards are Subscriber Identity Modules.... for phones, so, no

if there's a smart card (looks like a credit card) stuck in the back, then it's possible to use that.

but I think there's some "compliance" number that shows up on the screen if you poke the right buttons, someone should have a way to decode that.

The M Series 200 uses a Smartcard but is the Plus model so will not give you any detailed data. It will only give you compliance (how often you use it). The compliance data would need to be read from the card using a DT3500 card reader which your employers doctor most likely would not have and use the Encore software package to get the report.

R.G. it's time for an update. Have your doctor update your prescription for an Auto CPAP and then go shopping with or without your insurance. Your choice. Just keep in mind the useful life of your current CPAP has been met and it doesn't owe you anything. You will need a replacement. Start the process, and ask questions if you have them.

If you need to prove compliance, your machine stores that data on a Smartcard. I think most durable medical equipment providers that deal in CPAP can read that and provide a report. Get a list of in-network DMEs from your insurance company and start calling.

You can download a setup guide with this link. You'll be able to see how to read the usage data stored in the machine. It won't provide a compliance "report", but it should show how many nights greater than 4 hours it's been used and the blower hours. If you have a DME (Durable Medical Equipment) store you've been using, maybe they can prepare a document verifying the information contained in the machine.

RG, do you have to prove that you're regularly treating your OSA with CPAP as a requirement for employment ? (truck/train/equipment operator/etc.) Or, are you needing to prove regular usage/compliance in order to obtain a new CPAP machine ? Either way, your old machine might well be on it's "last legs" and should be retired to a back-up role from now on, if possible. (IMO) Good luck !

If you need compliance data for some sort of certification, it can be read off the screen if you press the right buttons.

You can even phone this information in. There is a "compliance check value" that you can read that verifies that the numbers you give the DME are correct. The DME enters the information and compliance check value into Encore and Encore will verify your numbers.
