H5i Leaking Water

Post by bavinck » Mon May 04, 2015 1:57 pm

I have a strange problem I am hoping someone knows something about. My 2 year old got into my machine a while back and now the humidifier leaks water out the hose and mask (like severe rain out, but happens as soon as turned on) with the upgraded dishwasher safe humidifier tank. This has happened with 2 brand new tanks, and the problem does not occur when I switch back to my old tank that came with my humidifier when I purchased it new. I suspect it has something to do with the plastic seal on the top of the humidifier lid, which I have removed and re-sealed, but the problem persists. I can use it with the basic tank, but it bothers me that this problem only results in the dishwasher safe tank.

Anyone else ever had this? Any ideas?

I'm using the same humidifier, bavinck. To clarify, you're getting leaks only at the mask end of the long hose? And this occurs right after you turn on your machine?

Also, at what height is your xpap/humidifier sitting with respect to the height of your mattress?

Try filling it up only half way and see what happens.

I just went through this for the past 6 weeks! It was to the point where I felt I was actually drowning! So much water built up that it went up my nose and down my throat before waking me up!

I just pulled out the water tank, and I was a hole in the back where the tank would match up. I ran my finger around the hole a couple times cleaning it. I popped my tank filled with water right back in, and IT WORKED!!! Had a great night sleep that I missed for too long! Hope this helps you!!!
