Re: fmccsa
There are a number of experienced people here who have to meet DOT regs who understand the problems with that. Please put your equipment in your profile, and please tell us what issues are keeping you from using it, so those folks can help!
Meantime, welcome to the forum.

Well, you never filled in your profile or gave any information as to your settings and other things that we might have tried to offer help with.tuffkid wrote:unable to meet the dot reg.any one else. Don’t tell to hang in there.my jobs gone, and i still can,t sleep whit it on. my best time was three hours.
This was your only other post:
unable two sleep & meet dot reg
Lots of drivers have OSA and other health conditions. Lots of them are or have been members of this forum.I put clap on and it wakes me up every time. they lower my pressure, but when i fall a sleep it will wake me two or three times i take it off sleep the rest of the night. but its not enough to meet dot reg. anyone have to lose job and start looking for new job.?
Chances would have been very good that we could have helped you and then you wouldn't be here complaining again.
NOBODY will care more about YOUR health and YOUR therapy than YOU will.

Here is something that I believe every CPAPer should do -->tuffkid wrote:i still can,t sleep whit it on. my best time was three hours
- Practice good sleep hygiene (Google it and read several sources)
- Eat a good diet
- Have a regular, moderate exercise program
- Practice total abstinence of caffeine including sources like chocolate
- Review all medicines, vitamins and supplements you are taking to make sure none are interfering with sleep
- Optimize emotional stress in your life
- Use CPAP software to make sure your therapy is optimized (Ask forum members for help downloading free software. They will need to know the model number of your machine.)
Edited to add: A warm tub bath before bed can help with relaxation.
It could be that there is one or two things keeping you from sleeping and they could be easily corrected.
What type of driving do you do?

It sounds like you are ready to give up and I sure hope not. You need to learn how to make this work not only for driving but for your life. I was forced to get a sleep study for a DOT physical and I didn't feel like I needed one. I was doing just fine, I thought.
I now know the benefits of using CPAP and figured out how to make it work for me.
Lets us know your machine and settings, what mask, and what problems you are having. Are you taking your mask off in your sleep or waking up and removing it because of a problem?
This will help you learn how to register your equipment. wiki/index.php/Registering_Equipment_in_User_Profile

Re: fmccsa
Put the CPAP on and read or watch TV for more than 4 hours a day, while trying to fall asleep. You may get used to it. You'll probably also meet your compliance numbers.
