If you want to use the VPAP and have it mimic the apap..
Set EPAP to your minimum APAP setting...set PS to 0...and set your IPAP maximum to whatever you want but it won't go very high.
With PS at 0 there will be one constant pressure like you were getting on the apap.
Also..Play with the PS settings...if 3 seems to rush you and/or isn't comfortable...try 2 or 1 or 4.

It's funny what we as individuals find comfort in and others don't. It took me all of about 2 minutes of trying a bilevel machine for me to realize that I REALLY liked the 2 different pressures but then you look at me and I enjoy trying different things all the time. Other people aren't like me and maybe they like old familiar the best and find change a bit disconcerting.

You got a good deal on the VPAP and we can either get you comfortable with bilevel or we can make the machine feel like your apap machine so that you don't have to be uncomfortable.

I think if it weren't for the easybreath on the resmed vpaps, I really wouldn't have liked bi-level... turning off makes the pressure changes way too abrupt and uncomfortable.

So I am going through the settings and I cannot figure out how to make sure the Easy breathing setting is on. Am I missing something?

if you check the clinicians manual, you'll see that the easybreath setting is only available in S mode, it is on, and cannot be turned off in vauto mode.

My very first experience with bilevel was with a PR S1 BiPap Pro model 650. I don't remember the BiFlex setting as that was way long ago but probably was either BiFlex 2 or 3 since I was quite happy with AFlex set to 2.
Couple of months after I got my own PR S1 BiPap Auto Rested Gal let me borrow her VPAP Auto so I could compare the 2 brands. I never really thought about EasyBreathe. I just knew I liked the way the VPAP Auto did things while awake which back then was a little different than the 750 did the PS in auto mode. Once Respronics came up with the separate settings for minimum PS instead of the default 2 cm hidden in the 750 (and older models) then that's when I found out I was happy with either brand.
I don't think I have ever tried a PR S1 with BiFlex off...not sure as I want to after the disaster that happened when I turned AFlex off one night. Did I ever tell you about that experiment which was a total disaster?

I think I may have read about it, but it doesn't stick in my mind like the descriptions of the time you tried no humidification!

You seem to have done well with your old machine. If it were me, with the new machine, I would start out with the same settings used on the old machine. You should get the same good therapy you are accustomed to.

If things go well for say one week, then you might want to experiment with bilevel settings.

It is less tedious for others to try to interpret your graphs if you follow this protocol from Pugsy - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=104876&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=30

When you are asking for people to look at your data, you should make some comments on how well you think you slept - length, quality - , how comfortable you were in bed, your level of energy/fatigue/sleepiness the next day and anything else you think is important.

This therapy is not just about the score. More importantly, it is about the quality of life.

If you read up further in the thread, I believe he has struggled to get the proper screenshots.

But yes, you are correct.

I see you found the rest of the charts, somehow now, to arrange them the way the web page shows, so you only need to post one page for all the most useful info

I'd probably go with a little higher pressure, say 10, which should help tame the spikes that were happening due to the flow limitations.

the most important thought though, is ... how do you FEEL today?

New machine with different SD card netted more charts. Due to my problems with my pituitary gland I never feel good. I just want to make sure I am getting effective apnea treatment.

well, by the numbers, it's effective. anytime my overall is under1.5, I feel pretty good, if it's higher, I feel less good.
