Does anyone know what the error code V1.24 is?

A V number is the firmware version number and not an error code.

For that machine, the latest firmware version I know of is 2.0.
1.24 dates back to 2010 or so, perhaps a little earlier.

For all the forum members who are considering an older PR 50 series machine (as in models 550 or 750 BiPAP or 950 autoSV), I'd recommend holding out for the newer 60 series lineup. The 50 series were plagued with several problems, most of them not earth shattering, however the 60 series machines solved almost all those problems. I know because I've had both a x50 and x60 in auto and ASV varieties. I can't speak for the BiPAP version but it's probably the same.

Accurate BioMed (forum member Ian) with the member name 'accurate', is the only one I know who can upgrade firmware for the various PR models,. I've heard some DMEs can upgrade firmware, but basically most, and especially the national chains, couldn't give a flying you-know-what these days.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Okay, now you've got me curious. I "upgraded" to a 550P from an even older model in January. I checked in encore basic and it's got V1.22 software on it. Is there any info available about what issues/problems existed in which software versions?

I know it's old, but it only had 95 blower hours on it and cost me $100, which is all I could afford. It seems to work well, but are there known problems that I need to be concerned about?

Not that I have ever seen. Most version changes are related to minor bug fixes but they (Respironics) never bothered doing updates to machines that were already out being used so we just don't know.
I wouldn't worry about it. Nothing you can do anyway.
As far as I know the main issue we have seen reported is that humidifier sensor thing that you already know about.
