I buy extra masks on ebay for 25.00 so at this point, I'm buying them as I wear them out.

Now, can anyone tell me if the laniosh (how do you spell it???) causes acne because i have already done accutane and have gotten a few pimples from the headgear and do not need any more!!!!
How did you end up going?

I tried the mirage quattro and hated it so much that I got rid of it. I couldn't handle the air blowing right in my eyes. I have been using the Simplus for a week now and love it. My pressure is 14. It fits nice to my face and lets me sleep through the night. Last night I had the losest AHI I have ever had since starting my CPAP. It was 0.05. I was using the ESON for the first month and liked it. My only problem is I am a mouth breather so it didn't work out so well. Thats the main reason why I chose this mask because of how its the big brother to the Eson. the only thingI found wrong with it is I didn't get the right size mask. I should have gotten a large, but that is on the way so I have no worries. IMO if you are having a hard time finding the right face mask this is the one to start with.

Really happy to hear it working for you. I really like this mask, probably my favorite, however I really like the mirage Quattro too.

I was looking at this website bestcpapprice.com which has it for $10 less than most places. They have different sizes - for a male 5'10, 190lbs with a pretty big head should a medium do ok ?

You can't size it that way, use the manufactures sizing template.....you can find the pdf template at CPAP.com .....go to the page for the Simplus and check sizing, print out the template at 100% size on your printer. That's the only reliable way to make sure you get the right size, it has little to do with your height and weight, more to do with the length of your face.

Thank you Tangledhose. Anyone have experience buying from there, good price ?

Also, when I go to the product page on cpap.com I don't see the sizing chart?

I commented in this thread nearly three years ago about my initial usage of the Simplus.

I'm happy to report that my Simplus still is going strong. It have replaced the headgear once after the initial manufacturing issues were sorted. Like anything the elasticity of the headgear straps just wore out, so there's nothing you can do about that. I'm pretty happy if I can get 18 months out of my headgear considering I use the machine every single night religiously.

I'm probably going to have to replace the cushion soon, after three years it's starting to become a little less supple. Again, three years is a good run.

I've read a bit about people having leaks around the eyes, this is actually fixable - whenever I wash my headgear, I battle the first night a bit with this.

The trick is getting the tension right between the forehead straps and the side/face straps.

When you tighten the forehead straps too much you tend to get blowouts around the chin because the top of the frame is anchored to your forehead. The inverse is true as well, when the side straps are too tight you get leaks around the eyes as the frame comes away in that spot.

It seems counterintuitive, but the first thing I always do with leaks around the eyes with my Simplus is to actually loosen the face straps a little. This seems to work about 90% of the time. If that doesn't work, I tighten the forehead straps until the leaks in the eyes are gone, but sometimes this causes chin blowouts. At that point I start tightening the side straps until they both settle down.

Three years and still going strong with the Simplus... Very Happy!
