Mucho thanks to the OP! Outstanding article link, I will use it to try and keep my brother in law from quitting his therapy ( he is 68, and just started therapy about six weeks ago. It is working for him, and his sleep doc is pleased with the results, but he still wants to toss it out the window at times. I think most of us know that feeling).

Note that similar stories appear in the blue box at the top of the page in the CPAP and Sleep Apnea News section. There are three good stories there right now.

I am sure many of us disable that part because it takes up a lot of screen space on the lap top.

Often the "news" box is cluttered with press releases for snake oil!

I disabled the news long ago once I found out I could hide it. Once they shut down the cpap auction site I had no need for it and it was more annoying and required more scrolling that I just don't want to do.

Thanks for pointing that out - I had never noticed the Hide button. I see that it's a mix of sleep apnea news, product news, and wiki topics. If we just want to see a full page with the cpap news we can go to viewpage.php?mode=CPAPnews instead.

The current interesting stories I was referring to are:
Snoring May Be Linked To Memory Loss And Cognitive Decline, Research ...
Heavy Snoring, Apnea Could Lead to Brain Issues: 7 Snoring Aids & Remedies
Loud night breathing could be an early warning indicator for memory loss

I won't take the time to click on the links, but aren't they all referring back to the same study referenced in the OP to this thread?

I believe that they were all triggered by the same study and each gave their own interpretation and excerpts of it.

I suspect the stories appearing in the banner are automatically selected using keywords like apnea and snoring.

Oh, they are. I have seen some funny ones in there that had nothing to do with apnea/CPAP.

I have to wonder how many people didn't grok that term.

I love "grok." Great book!!

I'd argue that most people with untreated severe OSA would be lucky to even make it to 77. Age 67 seems to be a pretty reasonable time for a lot of people to expire with a myriad of causes that are apnea related.

Thanks for the article, it's rather interesting. I want to believe that there really exist some ways to quit CPAP.
