Thanks Kathy, I'm glad you chimed in here. BTW the quote function got messed up in your post -- that is Enchanter's post you have under my name.

Q: And what do I tell the doctor? If I already know he's just gonna look at my numbers and tell me to lose 30 pounds, do I bring up the fact I'm already working out really hard and eating healthy?

A: Tell him "Bye!"

If your doctor gives you BS like this instead of doing his job and looking for the real cause, fire him and find a real doctor. Even people who eat right and exercise have medical problems like this. If he's a lazy slimebag who takes your money and just takes the eazy "you're fat and lazy" excuse, kick him to the curb.

On the other hand, you don't want a doctor who does a lot of unnecessary tests and such.

Do you snore? You can record yourself sleeping and see if you snore or stop breathing.

You can also buy a recording pulseoximeter for $100 or so and see if your oxygen levels are dropping in your sleep. Unfortunately, you can have apnea and not show up on a pulseox, but the pulseox will show apnea in many people.

BTW, any doctor who waits for you to lose weight before checking for and treating sleep apnea needs to be kicked to the curb. Then kicked out into traffic.

Sad, but true, very few people are successful at losing weight and keeping it off.

Well, we'll see what he says. Next week is the appointment. I wrote out a list of symptoms I'm experiencing on paper. I am praying that things go well.
