new machine--how to use data card for the first time?

Post by svh » Thu Apr 16, 2015 8:29 pm

I got a second machine--just the same as my first. I hoped to be able to use both memory cards with my SleepyHead software, but when I put the new card into my computer and open SleepyHead, it crashed the program. It was so long ago that I did it with my old card that I don't remember if I had to set it up somehow at first. My new machine, btw, has some sort of wifi gizmo that transmits my usage for insurance. I just want to read the card to see how I'm doing, for my own information. Thanks!

I don't know why SleepyHead crashed but if I recall correctly you can't go back and forth with two different machines for the same SleepyHead user profile (each machine has its own serial number). But you should be able to create a new user profile in SleepyHead and assign the new machine to that user.

SleepyHead doesn't care how many machines is in a user profile. I think I have 6 different machines under one of my profiles.

SleepyHead also shouldn't crash when you try to download from the new card.
It won't hurt to try a new user profile though.

Thanks for the correction.

Pugsy is right, SH very nicely combines data from multiple machines, even different types... showing whatever data is appropriate for that day, on that machine...

it's one of the many neat things about it.

What version of SleepyHead do you have? It should say in the title bar at the top of the SleepyHead window.

If it's not 0.9.8-1, you might want to download the latest and greatest version. It has a lot of improvements.
