ResMed S9 AutoSet CPAP Machine Available - No More Apnea!

Post by ApneaNoMore » Tue Mar 31, 2015 10:59 am

Sorry if this isn't allowed to be posted here, just delete if that's the case. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea in September of last year (2014). I went for the test as a surgeon required it of me and I wasn't allowed to have the surgery if the apnea went untreated. When they diagnosed me and prescribed this machine my life changed... A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP! But, I had the surgery in January, lost 55lbs already and no longer have sleep apnea (my freshly blow-dryed hair every night that no longer spends time under the headgear is very thankful)!!

In the meantime I have this amazing machine, in immaculate condition (with extra filters) available that I'd love to sell. Its the ResMed S9 APAP (used religiously from Sept, '14 - January 22, '15 and then not really at all afterwards) that comes with additional filters, as well as the travel bag (which came in really handy last year as I travelled a lot for work). if you have any questions, want photos, want more information, etc then feel free to reach out here or via PM and I can get you my contact information.

Asking $600 + shipping (I'll take it to P/O or FedEx and figure out priority shipping costs when there's a buyer) or pick up in NY/Queens.

WHAT "surgery"?
Have you had another follow-up sleep study to "prove" you don't need it?

Just had my follow up sleep study last week, all clear - or so it seems. Surgery was Gastric Bypass, shocking the difference between 50lbs...

I hate to bust your bubble, but if you want to sell that unit on this board the going price is under $300.

Is your insurance provider still making payments on it? Contract payments are usually on a 10 - 13 month schedule.

That's really good to know LSAT! Thanks.

My insurance didn't cover it Den, I paid for the unit out of pocket...

Also, will definitely hear all offers, so if $300 is the going rate than I'd love to consider that and any other offers from anyone who might be looking to get this model, practically new, cheap. Guessing there are more folks like me out there, whose insurance doesn't cover but who need the machine and would be thrilled to pay less than retail.

Danger, Will Robinson!
This seller joined the forum TODAY,
Edit: second time writing this post, my iPad is SNAFU, as usual.

I'm more concerned that the OP assumes he/she has no more SA. Weight loss is not a magic bullet. It might rid you of type 2 diabetes symptoms but not SA as far as I know. I mean God bless you if you are cured but I'd hold on to that machine till you have gone a year or two with no issues. I've lost more weight than you have through just dieting and still have sleep apnea!
Morbius, are you bored?

That, too; but when medical "experts" keep saying it, it's hard not to believe.
Think how long leprosy was shrouded in ignorance and superstition.
Apnea may not be the same, but the cult of ignorance affects us in similar ways, and, likewise, for much too long.

Gastric bypass is known to often relieve people of their OSA - it's not 'just' about the amt of weight lost, but the surg does something or other that relieves it. Sorry I'm not articulating this very well, but it's not really news anyhow.

OP had a sleep study stating no more apnea as an FYI which is what we routinely encourage people to do who have lost weight. Agree with the concern to be leery of seller since this person just joined the forum. No offense but we have had members scammed by sellers previously so we're just being cautious.

You all have every right to be weary, but it's pretty obvious that I joined this site specifically because I want to sell this unit. It's barely used and I have no more need for it because, again, I had a new sleep study last week and no longer need it. If and when someone is interested they should reach out to me, I'm hapoy to have a conversation via phone, etc, provide a verified PayPal account, send via tracked USPS or FedEx and share any personal information needed to set the buyers mind at ease. No need to mistrust everyone, I don't intend to burn anyone. I'm just a regular girl from NYC who had sleep apnea, had GB, lost some weight and in turn lost sleep apnea and wants to sell her now useless (TO HER) machine.

Thanks!
