Re: Mouth guard that won't crowd tongue space?
I second trying a cheapie from Walmart/a drugstore. Or in the dental section, there should be a couple of boil and bite single guard options for grinding that'll run you about $20. If they crowd your tongue fitted to your upper teeth, you could try fitting them to the lower teeth instead. I believe ...

Re: New solution for Dry Mouth?
This sounds very intriguing. A couple follow-up questions: 1) You said: " Anyway, this is the one I like best " Did you try other similar guards before this one? If so, do you happen to remember what they were and what you didn't like as well about them? 2) How much of a sensation of bulk does it f...

Re: New solution for Dry Mouth?
How about a double mouthguard? Higher pressures commonly make me open my mouth, resulting in extreme dryness, and the mouthguard completely solves that problem for me. **I can keep my mouth closed and tongue in place (for the most part) against pressures under 13-ish, so I've temporarily lowered my ...

You're tired, OP. I get it. But you might consider being a bit more polite to the folks you are asking for help - who are doing so on their own time, for free, out of a genuine desire to help others succeed with their xPAP therapy.

Re: Side sleeping and dryness in mouth
^^^What Spinner said, regarding the mouth-breathing. So you think the deviated septum could be a problem? I can't recall which side he said it was on. He told me about it because he said I needed to use a nasal spray a bit differently. It could, if you often have more trouble breathing through one s...

Our old radio doesn't have a sleep timer, though...need to get a new one! Definitely gonna have to get a newer radio with a timer like yours, though. Does anyone still buy radios? Check out their VCRs while you are in the store. http://iphone.appstorm.net/how-to/entertainment-how-to/how-to-listen-t...

Re: Tricks to fall asleep
That's exactly it! Interesting enough to distract, but not so interesting as to keep you awake! LOL What kind of timer do you use? I use a clock radio that has a sleep timer and an mp3 input. I use the BeyondPod podcast app on my phone, which has an adjustable sleep timer built in. I load up my pla...

Re: Side sleeping and dryness in mouth
Perhaps some anatomical reason making it more likely for you to mouth breathe on your back and right side? It's common for people's mouth to drop open more easily on the back. As for one side vs another, do you have a deviated septum, any joint or pain issues, sinus issues, or other health problems ...

Re: Tricks to fall asleep
I listen to podcasts on a sleep timer - I like the Stuff You Should Know podcasts and offshoots from the same folks (Stuff You Missed in History Class, Stuff They Don't Want You to Know, etc). They're interesting, but not so interesting that my mind insists on staying awake to finish them. If the po...

Re: Nasal Pillow Tips - natural decongestant techniques
Ah yes, using Vicks Vaporub on the other side of the airfilter at the inlet!! Great idea!! I also thought about those "Breatheasy" nasal strips - you know the sticky plastic strips that some athletes wear to open up your nostrils. But, I suppose the nasal pillows are opening up your nostrils alread...

Re: Nasal Pillow Tips - natural decongestant techniques
I wouldn't add the eucalyptus oil directly to the water in the humidifier, if that's what you're intending. That stuff is powerful in concentrated form, especially when it's getting blown straight up your nose, and you'll have a heck of a time trying to clean it out if it turns out to be too strong....
