Re: Anyone using CPAP for non-Apnea or heart issues?

Check your vitamin D levels. That's not part of a typical blood panel, and your doc has to order it separately. Vitamin D deficiency is endemic in Northern climates. A lack of D can cause all sorts of problems in your body. If you have low D, Magnesium, and other minerals, then problems can be comp...

Re: Anyone using CPAP for non-Apnea or heart issues?

Hi Tracy, Do you have a GP who is monitoring/coordinating your progress? Sounds like the Pulmonologist and Cardiologist are doing a bit of finger pointing. Maybe you need a referee. How about blood tests? Have you had a complete work up? If not, maybe you should. And have those things that are norm...

Re: 6 year CPAP user. Should I try Auto?

I am going to get started with SleepyHead sometime soon but was wondering if it is ok to sign up for the Resmed/MyAir to monitor things until then. Any downside to enabling this? Is it free? The report/dashboard is very cartoonish and only tells you events, how many times you had your mask off, mas...

Re: Anyone using CPAP for non-Apnea or heart issues?

heart symptoms got a lot worse after several rounds of antibiotics in the fall, You had received antibiotics earlier in the fall, why? Bacterial infections can cause heart problems. Doctor suspected Lyme based on symptoms. No bite mark or rash (which some people don't have). Lyme test showed negati...

Re: OT: Need prayers

BlackSpinner, you are definitely in my prayers. 2012 was such a dark year for me. It was a year mostly dedicated to my parents: Helping them move 50 years of stuff (a lot of stuff there was) At the same time, Dad was in and out of facilities due to his own stuff. Lastly, living with them for 6 weeks...

Re: Anyone using CPAP for non-Apnea or heart issues?

Thanks, guys. I used to take Natural Calm awhile back and just stopped. I looked at what some of you said about magnesium and realized little or no magnesium in my daily diet, heart symptoms got a lot worse after several rounds of antibiotics in the fall, overhauling my diet to get cholesterol down,...

Re: Anyone using CPAP for non-Apnea or heart issues?

I'll try the magnesium. I love Spinach but don't eat it often enough. I'll try that. I've been on CPAP about a week and the first mask leaked like crazy. This mask fits and I wore it for the first time last night and slept like a rock - for 11 hours. I never sleep that well. And it makes no sense th...

Re: Anyone using CPAP for non-Apnea or heart issues?

I'm not seeing any search feature it's up there by the logo. also, on google, you can put site:cpaptalk.com in the search bar, along with whatever you're searching for, and google will only show matches from here. DERP. Great I'm sleep deprived AND blind. Not sure why that blended in with the logo ...

Re: Anyone using CPAP for non-Apnea or heart issues?

If your AHI is below 5, move on to another diagnosis. ?? I have a cardiologist and a pulmanologist who don't know each other (two different health systems) recommending trying CPAP first. Move on to another diagnosis like what? I don't mind wearing the mask or using the machine. In fact, last night...

Anyone using CPAP for non-Apnea or heart issues?

I haven't slept well for years. I have maybe two or three "awake" days a month. Usually I wake up exhausted, drag myself through each day and do it all over again the next day. Not just tired. This is the debilitating, zombie-like, too tired to read or watch TV kind of tired so many of you on here m...

Sleeping TOO much at first?

After almost two months, the DME finally forked over a machine and a mask (good thing, because the mask I'd bought on my own leaked and farted like crazy). The first few nights were a nightmare. The hose was heavier, I was trying a different mask with no forehead strap and it ended up poking me in t...

Re: Pillows for side sleepers

I've used a water-filled pillow for years (not as sea-sicky as it sounds) for neck and upper back issues and it's really working well for me with the CPAP (so far).

Re: Attn: whiners, complainers, quitters

Whiners, complainers, quitters are the reason I'm barely on Facebook. People who post things like, "I guess no one cares [insert sad puppy pic here] make me want to reply, "Guess not!" And I'm not a mean person. I agree with several others here. There's a difference between initial frustration and e...

Compliance Monitoring Question

For those of you who are monitored for compliance and then go on vacation or are away from home for a few days, what do you do?

I mean, do you have to be at home for your compliance to be monitored or how does that work?

Thanks
