Bad night- screenshots

Post by Punchyandtired » Fri Mar 06, 2015 1:43 pm

I thought I was sleeping poorly from dh snoring and coughing all night, but does this indicate the pressure spikes may have been waking me up? You can see where around 5:45 am I took my mask off and went to the kitchen for some water... Right after a pressure spike.

15 cm is fine. 16 cm feels like I am swallowing air. Do you think i should just straight shot it at 15? Thanks!!!

I've learned how to turn off the calendar and the pie chart. I need to learn how to size it correctly so I don't have to do two screen shots. Is there anything else you want me to screen shot and post?

By swallowing air, I guess I mean aerophagia. I woke up feeling like I needed to burp-- several times. This happened when I tried a min pressure of 16.

Maybe that is what woke me up and caused pressure spikes? I had to disconnect my mask at the tube so I could burp and let the air out. Maybe that is what caused the machine to want to spike the pressure? Hum.

Your pressure spikes are caused by the hunt-n-peck algorithm of Philips Respironics Auto machine. Since your AHI is very low, you will benefit by changing your APAP settings to max=min=15cm. This will eliminate hunt-n-peck. And so no pressure spike waking you up completely or partially. I suggest you do this for 10+ days and see how you feel in the mornings.

I agree. I'll do this tonight, and yes, can see the benefit of trying this for 10 days.

I'm learning. The people on this page are so helpful-- wanted to pass the idea by everyone to see if anyone thought going to mix/max 15 was a bad idea.

I think 15 is my number.

ETA: I don't think all the pressure spikes reflect my burping... I know I didn't burp as many times as my pressure spiked; I burped maybe 3 times last night.

Thank you for looking and commenting!

Did you know you can resize the SleepyHead graphs? Just take your mouse cursor and slide it along the bottom of the graph until you see a short little double line then just click and drag to resize. SleepyHead will remember the changes..you can do it on the sides too. You could probably get your pressure graph to show with just a little shortening of the height of the events and flow rate graphs without losing a lot of detail. Especially the flow rate graph because it doesn't really need to be so tall.

Also if you want to use APAP mode with the min of 15 and max of 15...there is no urgent need to even show the pressure graph because the pressure won't change at all.

Thanks, pugsy. I'll try to look for those lines on the laptop.

I feel like I slept better last night on min/max 15 but the AHI went up to .92 (which I know is still low).
