Another quick newbie question

Post by Tracy1968 » Wed Mar 04, 2015 5:20 pm

I'm still fighting with insurance, my doc and the DMEs about getting a CPAP machine so I'm finally taking all of your advice and looking at buying a used one on Craigslist or a new one from CPAP.com.

BUT --

For example, if I need a machine set at 6cm and I buy a used one set at 15cm, is that something I can change on my own or does some DME or someone specially trained in CPAP machines need to calibrate/change the settings for me?

It's easy to change the pressure on any of these newer machines. You can do it yourself.
The provider/clinical manuals explain it and those can be found here

Just make sure that you know your models to make sure you get a machine that is a full data machine and just because a machine has a SD card in it doesn't mean it is a full data machine because there are a lot of machines that only put hours of use on that SD card.
