Re: weight loss, mouth breathing, and pressure changes

I actually slept really well, the leaks did not affect my sleep... but I still wanted to see if it was mouth breathing, so I taped my mouth last night... and this was my new graph. http://i.imgur.com/LVC4c2fh.png So I'm thinking that it was probably mouth breathing. However, since it didn't negative...

Re: weight loss, mouth breathing, and pressure changes

I have actually had to tighten my headgear using the adjuster clip thingy that came with my last order, but I've been doing that as I lost weight. I actually got new headgear not too long ago, I noticed a better fit, but no change in the mouth breathing. Here is my data from last night. I zoomed in ...

Thanks again... I'll definitely report back tomorrow! I'm so excited I kind of want to try and go take a nap now.

Re: weight loss, mouth breathing, and pressure changes

Thank you! I have adjusted the settings from cpap to auto-set and will report back tomorrow with the results. Can you tell me what to expect with the change when I go to bed tonight? I don't use the ramp, so I'm at a 12 pressure right from the beginning...in an auto-set mode will it start at the low...

Re: weight loss, mouth breathing, and pressure changes

For the time over leak red line threshold I it says 11.62% on Monday night and 21.68% last night. My leaks prior to losing weight and mouth breathing were very minimal or nonexistent and my AHI has been consistently less than 1 since I started therapy 3 years ago. The leaks are a pretty huge problem...

Re: weight loss, mouth breathing, and pressure changes

According to my husband the air is simply escaping from my mouth but I am still inhaling and exhaling through my nose. My AHI is usually less than one. I am including my graphs from last night, AHI was 1.18 but for the last hour I was wearing my mask I was awake and talking, so I don't know if that ...

weight loss, mouth breathing, and pressure changes

I started cpap about 3 years ago and it has mostly been a huge success for me. However, after recently losing approximately 30lbs, I suddenly started mouth breathing at night. I've never had any problems mouth breathing prior to this, and it's becoming a real problem. I've tried 3 different chin str...

What went wrong? Please help! Sleepyhead data included.

When I first started CPAP about two years ago it was the answer to my prayers. Back then I was a frequent visitor here, and monitored my SleepyHead data religiously. I became complacent though, and now I've forgotten everything I learned and I need help to figure out the problem. About a month ago I...

I'm tired again

I started CPAP four weeks ago with a Wisp - had a few good nights and then started have long (30 min+) large leaks. I switched to Airfit P10 for her - using medium nasal pillows - and did great for a week or more. Then a few nights in a row, I woke up to air leaking out around my nares - I readjuste...

Re: Help selecting from four DMEs

I use American Home Patient and I was initially very happy with the service and response time from my local office and the operators at the national number have been friendly if not very helpful. Unfortunately, that all went downhill when I needed to change my mask. I was initially given a Wisp and ...

Re: Long time reader... first time poster

Thanks!!! It's the big 4-0. Thankfully, due to CPAP, I don't feel a day over 39.

Re: Long time reader... first time poster

Three week update. I've been using my CPAP for three weeks today - with the exception of a major issue I had with my first mask (a Wisp) leaking being displaced during sleep, I feel like I was made for CPAPing. I haven't had any trouble with chipmunk cheeks (I naturally keep my tongue glued to the t...

Re: OT:Defective frog

Good luck! And thanks for the push - I've been needing to get my mammogram scheduled and reading this was exactly what I needed to actually get on the phone and make the appointment. I hope you hear GOOD NEWS!

Re: Best way to eliminate the new plastic stink?

I used a few drops of essential oil on a cotton ball next to the air intake of my machine... that way the only thing I could smell was the essential oil. If you don't have essential oil, then maybe a tiny squirt of body spray or something like that on a cotton ball might work the same way.
