YAY! Success!!! Thank you so much, Pugsy. We found the manual online. It IS a heated machine, and I didn't even have the heat on. Now I know both how to turn it on, and how to change the settings for the humidifier. They go from 1 - 5. I turned it to 3 - already feeling some relief!

You have been really helpful - thank you again!

Well that is indeed good news.
It may take you nasal mucosa 2 or 3 days to get back to normal...but I hope you get relief sooner.
You may or may not now experience one of the other "joys" of heated humidification...that would be "rain out" or condensation in the hose or mask. If you do...you will know it and it won't hurt you but it is highly annoying. There are ways to deal with it if that happens so don't worry. We will cross that bridge if we need to.

Hopefully you won't have to use the old dinosaur of a machine for a prolonged time.

Slept last night with the humidifier settings at 3. So comfortable. Still tossed and turned, but it was easy to get comfortable and fall asleep each time I woke up. This morning I was laying in bed after the alarm went off and noticed that I couldn't even tell if the CPAP was on - it was! Nasal passages are a little clearer this morning - the burning-needing-to-sneeze sensation on my right side has calmed down a bit. It's still there, and my eyes are still watering, but not at the rate they were yesterday. Success!

I do need to start looking at different masks. When I'm laying on my LEFT side, the mask I have now puts pressure on my RIGHT cheek just where the impact was that broke my face several years ago and it's just not comfortable. I'll take a look at the ResMed Swift FX Nano nasal cushion mask and the Sleep Weaver mask. I'm also going to call my insurance company today and try to figure out how long all this is going to take (still waiting on authorizations...).

Ok - off to work!
