That is what my mouth did before cpap. If you were not mouth breathing, your mouth would not dry out unless you developed a new medical condition. As you are waking up you close your mouth and it sticks together.postitnote wrote:

Thank you Stu. I am hoping it will too. The machine should be here soon.StuK wrote:I think the humidifier will definitely help, I find that when my mask is not tight and the air leaks it is like having a blower hand dryer evaporating the moisture in my mouth. Best I can do for a comment.

Re: Side sleeping and dryness in mouth
That's interesting because it would mean I only open my mouth if I don't sleep on my left side. It doesn't happen that often and the reason I asked about it was that it did happen recently. No new illnesses or new meds but then if either of those was an issue it would have to happen more than just when I roll over. I really need to find the file the ENT gave me when he retired and check to see which side of my septum is deviated. I think that and not using a humidifier would be the best place to start. Those pillows look pretty nice but at close to $60 not sure I'd buy one. I'm using my grandpa's feather pillows still and occasionally a cat if one tries to sleep on my head!BlackSpinner wrote:That is what my mouth did before cpap.
