New CPAP user with leaking mask

Post by trunky » Tue Nov 02, 2004 2:47 pm

Hi I'm a new hose head and I have the activa mask, but it tends to leak! which to me isn't a problem as I would sleep through it but it wakes my wife up! Which in turn she wakes me.
has anybody had similar problems with this mask?

That would be an excellent question to post to the "CPAP and Sleep Apnea" section of this forum. More people would see it and respond to it there. Many probably don't read the Introductions messages very often.

To repost, click the words, "cpaptalk.com Forum Index" up above and then click "CPAP and Sleep Apnea".

It was nice to see you introduce yourself - hope you get some answers to your questions when you use the main forum of this message board.

Just a thought...perhaps it's noise from the mask's exhaust port hitting the pillow, covers or mattress, rather than noise from a leak per se. Either way, noise is noise.

Where on the mask is the "leak" coming from? My guess is also that is is the exhaust holes. They do blow out quit a bit of air.

Also is it the air waking your wife or is the mask making a muffled trumpet sound. I have heard this sound infrequently from my Activa mask from the first time I put it on.
Sincerely,
