Re: RemSTAR Auto M series with A flex problems
Logical updates to a m-series auto, would the Philips Respironics System One auto or Dreamstation Auto. Resmed is 24 volts so you may not want to go there. I still have an old M-series sitting in a closet. Kind of like outdated smartphones...works fine, no one wants it, and it's not worth anything.

Re: Should the reservoir be cleaned routinely?..photos attached
Pink bacteria can occur in swimming pools as well. It seems to survive normal chlorine disinfection levels, and getting rid of this in pools requires very high disinfection levels (shock). The bacteria are naturally present in air, and will reproduce and form a "slime" on surfaces that are warm and ...

Re: Inspiration expiration ratio
Most auto CPAPs, and I think many fixed CPAPs will also report inspiration time and expiration time (minimum, average or median, x-percentile and max). Fewer machines calculate the I:E ratio, but all you need is to look at the average I or E time, and it's readily obvious when E is 2-3 times I. As I...

Re: Inspiration expiration ratio
Going back to the I:E ratio, it has been my anecdotal observation that people with higher AHI and more difficulty adapting to CPAP seem to have this inverse ratio, and it shows up in the average or median inspiration time, and expiration time as well, not just the ratio. In addition most of these peo...

Re: Uncomfortable night last night - SleepyHead report attached
Sleepychar, one feature I noted in your posted graph is an unusually low average tidal volume of about 200 mL. If you are a particularly small person, this would make some sense, or perhaps you're not ventilating as well as you should at night, in spite of low numbers of apnea events. Pressure supp...

Re: Still have bad headaches and crash in afternoon.
Do I need to wait to go back to doc to do this or can I do it myself? The company I rented this from and my sleep doc never really gave me any instructions or told me what to do. I just assumed I would make an appt with my sleep doc after a couple weeks. I wanted to reply to this, because your ques...

Re: CPAP.Com selling PRS! 60 Series Auto at $314
Whether he think it is expired or not, a prescription copy will still be honored by CPAP.com. Are you sure this is true? If it is, that's a really neat thing and worth noting. Hmmm, if your Rx is expired and you want to submit it to some place other than CPAP.com and you're allowed to submit a copy...

Re: CPAP.Com selling PRS! 60 Series Auto at $314
An amazing deal, and I hope it helps out some people that have high deductible or no insurance. Prescriptions should be good for life. If you have ever been prescribed CPAP, you can get the prescription from your doctor by request (hopefully), or if necessary by invoking HIPAA which requires your do...

Re: CPAP.Com selling PRS! 60 Series Auto at $314
Especially for our new members that may have high deductible insurance, this can be a huge help. There is nothing sacred about using the DME you were referred to. As long as you have a prescription, or can refer CPAP.com to your doctor, this saves a lot of money, and no compliance monitoring. I have...

Re: Looking to Rent Battery Power Pack for travel to rent
The Resmed units present a more difficult problem for powering with a battery, because they use 24 volt power, and require that the power supply include a signal that is provided only by OEM power supply connectors. A battery source does not need to be expensive, and many have used the PowerAdd Pro ...

Re: Been raising pressure's, making it worse?
At this point your CA events are inconsequential, and most of your problem remains obstructive. Look at your flow limitations and the correlation to obstructive events, OA, RERA and Hypopnea. Seems the max pressure needs to increase if you want those to go away, and if it comes at the cost of a few ...

Re: New machine not useable
I will simply confirm that what Pugsy suggested is true for the Aircurve 10 Vauto. In auto bilevel mode, you can set the minEPAP is equivalent to the Autoset minimum pressure, and maxIPAP is the same as the maximum pressure. The key is the machine allows you to set the pressure support (similar to E...
