Leak rate interpretation, help please?

Post by cwillis » Thu Jan 29, 2015 8:23 pm

Still not quite sure how to interpret leak rate properly on SH software. Last night with my Quattro FFM first time wearing my Padacheek mask liner is this leak rate acceptable? 95% of the time my leak rate is 4.0 which is good correct? But now my total leak rate 95% says 50.00 which appears over the suggested leak rate in the manual at my pressure. Still need help with interpretation. Still hunting for my optimum mask setup. Felt like I had a good night.

your 95% leak rate is 50. not 4.

ignore the 'leak rate' line, it's an approximation, based on some fairly clever, but not bulletproof calculations in sleepyhead.

for your machine, pay attention to the total leaks line.

look in the back of your mask manual for the expected leak (aka vent) rate for your mask at different pressures,

if your total leak is close to that, then you're doing great.

just eyeballing things, your leaks are ok, but not great... I'd say "needs improvement".

I was hoping to you would offer opinion, so my vent rate at that pressure should be 45 approx. Ok I think I'm getting it now, 50 not much larger than that. I actually felt I had a good night last night....thanks PR

yes, your leaks look pretty good, and feeling good is the best indication that things are working well...
