headaches from humidifier use?

Post by surf_rower » Mon Jan 26, 2015 4:37 pm

Anyone have headaches when using the humidifier but no headache when not using it? That is what is happening with me... The air pressure seems lower with the humidfier, that is, it doesn't seem to be blowing out of the vent holes as hard. Not sure, though. My SleepHead data looks about the same.

The humidifier tends to "round the corners" of your air flow slightly, so it seems more gentle.
My guess, FWIW, the headaches have no connection unless a ENT finds one.
If it is a problem, make an appointment.

Any particular HH setting?
Have you tried different settings? (or just all or nothing?)

I agree...the humidifier "softens" the air flow

It's on 3. I figure I should do the lowest setting that solves my dry nose issues, and it does that. At 2, the heat plate barely got warm, so after a few nights of that I turned it up one.
Good to know it is supposed to be a "softer" airflow with the moisture, that certainly answers one concern I had.
My thought was that the softer airflow meant I had to struggle more to breathe and that was giving me a headache, but then you'd think it would reflected in the SH data.
I have not done a rigorous study of this, was just wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing. Headaches started around the time I added moisture, lasted almost 2 months, and then stopped the morning I took the moisture away, and came back the last two nights when I added it again. Correlation doesn't mean causation but one wonders...
