ResScan not recognizing my SD card

Post by SleepingUgly » Sat Oct 13, 2012 7:07 pm

First, does ResScan 3.16 work with S9 VPAP Adapt? I couldn't get it to recognize an SD card from an Adapt machine. I put ResScan 4.1 on and it doesn't see the SD card. We put it on my husband's computer and once it read the data, and since then it doesn't recognize there's a card there. I've tried two different SD cards. Anyone know what's going on?

What version of Windows are you using, and are you using Windows on a PC or Windows as a virtual machine on a Mac; if the latter, what version of OSX are you using and what brand and version of VM software are you using?

Knowing this may help considerably in narrowing down the problem and in getting responses from members with a setup similar to yours.

I assume that you have confirmed that the computer can see the SD card and the data files within the SD card?
So you have eliminated the slot or drive where the SD card sits as being the problem.
Just saw that SleepyHead won't read it either.
While I know that some Respironics ASV machines won't work with SleepyHead...I haven't heard of the ResMed VPAP high end machines having a similar problem.

Windows 7, Professional version, on a PC, not a virtual machine

Yes, we can see the SD card and the data files in it. I can email the data and other people can unzip and download and open in their ResScan.

How many uninstalls and installs have you tried with ResScan? Same download source?
Are talking about only version 4.1....or are you having problems with all versions?

When you tried SleepyHead...did you try creating a new user profile? I assume you probably did because you know your computer stuff but it helps us to know exactly what you have tried and come up empty with.

FWIW, I just tried, without success, to get ResScan 3.16 to work with my Win 7 Home Edition 32 bit system today. I tried several times running it in compatibility mode as Win XP SP3 and the window kept saying the software was still incompatible. So I downloaded and successfully ran ResScan 4.1.

I downloaded the latest version several times. No difference.
Are talking about only version 4.1....or are you having problems with all versions?
Before I installed version 4.1, I attempted to read the ASV data from the previous version that I was using which was 3.16. That couldnt even see the ASV SD card in my machine. Mind you, 3.16 was working flawlessly in importing data from my S9 bilevel machine. The problem happened when I moved to the ASV machine.
When you tried SleepyHead...did you try creating a new user profile?
Yes, I created a totally new profile. Sleepyhead doesn't even see the ASV data on the card. It's just blank. I even copied the data from the SD card to a separate directory on my computer and tried to import from that. Same problem -- the directory appeared blank. Then I put in a SD card with my old S9 data on it (before I got the ASV machine) and it worked perfectly. So there is some issue, I suspect, that the Sleepyhead software has with ASV data (at least from my machine).

Very possible.
I know that some people are able to use SleepyHead perfectly with their PR S1 ASV machine and someone else using the very same model ASV type of machine can't get SH to work for them at all.
You are the first that I have heard of this happening with the ResMed line though. We may see more of it later.

No kidding!

BTW, in the interest of full disclosure, I'm not tech savvy, so my husband is dealing with my computer problems and will occasionally check posts here and respond.

I just posted another note about this.

You might need a card reader that can handle an SDHC card. That's what they use in the S9. The SDHC card in the s9 is 4GB in size. Here's an example card reader at NewEgg.com

I'm using the same cards I always was. I don't think that's it, but thanks.

Hi,

A late answer, but I recently fell in the same trap using ResScan and Windows Vista.
Simply run ResScan as administrator (left click in the start menu).

Regards.
