Acceptable leak rate for Airfit P10
Acceptable leak rate for Airfit P10
Hi,
What is the acceptable leak range for the Airfit P10?
I believe the range changes with the pressure change????
Thank you,

Re: Acceptable leak rate for Airfit P10
Hi,
Thank you,
Something in my head is not computing.
How do I apply this information to my sleepyhead data in general and graphs in particular?
Per sleepyhead, last night's readings
show:
AHI: 0
OA: 0
HA: 0
CA:0
RA: .31
I am guessing my leak rate is effecting my statistics and making them look better than they actually are.
I do not know how to compute the leak rate data:
Average leak rate: 7.45
90% leak: 28.80
% of time above leak rate threshold: 12.27 %
I purchased a new airfit p10 strap which helped the fit a lot and a special cpap pillow that I am still adjusting to,
helped the first night, not last night.

Re: Acceptable leak rate for Airfit P10
I have the opposite problem. My P10 is showing total leaks of 20L/min with medium pillows at the start pressure of 7.5cm. Resmed P10's manual says intentional leak rate should be 20L/min at 4cm and 29L/min at 8cm pressure.
Is my P10 venting less than it should?

Hi,
Thank you,
This is because I am one of the newbies that is overly sensitive.
I have been following all of the recent posts and realize I need to toughen my spine a bit.
I appreciate the help of everyone on this forum including devils with halos.

Sonnyboy, don't cut the devil any slack....
You're fine. Are you kidding? I have been doing this since 2008 and have never seen 0 AHI. Congrats.
and your leak rate is within specs that will not affect the machine sensors much.

Hi,
Thank you,
If I have done well it is only because of the help of everyone on this forum.
Now if I can just learn to understand those graphs.
Kathy

Kathy, just follow this tutorial on how to post the graphs. Start your own thread, and we'll be glad to help. https://sleep.tnet.com/reference/tips/imgur

That is an excellent resource! Best tutorial I've seen and the answer to How Do I Post Sleepyhead.
Wait a minute! There I go speaking of the devil...again.

hrm, ok, then...Sonnyboy wrote:I appreciate the help of everyone on this forum including devils with halos.
you don't have to compute anything, your machine reports the excess leak over and above what the expected leak (vent) rate is. (and it's similar, though not exactly the same, across every mask I've seen) so while mike1953's posting was accurate as to the vent rate (which you can find in the back of your manual) it was irrelevant to what you need to know.Sonnyboy wrote:I do not know how to compute the leak rate data:

resmed machines like to see a leak rate less than 24lpm, above about 30lpm, the machines start having problems telling what kind of an apnea you have, they can still detect the apnea though.
your 90% rate is higher than it should be, your average rate is ok. work on getting the leaks down, the bonus is that they'll be less disturbing.

Hi,
Re:

Kathy, just follow this tutorial on how to post the graphs. Start your own thread, and we'll be glad to help.
I will do this after I try out my new Airfit P10 strap and Cpap pillow a bit more and have some new data. I want to learn how to process all of this myself and I need to learn how to post graphs better than I do.

Thank you. I was reading all the right manuals but not processing correctly. This definitely helps.
