Like many others, I have had the following symptoms with my phillips repironics remstar plus cpap.
My problem began occurring when my unit was approximately two years old. Initially the unit would stop randomly in the middle of the night, and begin rebooting itself repeatedly. Usually in the early stage of this problem unplugging unit and plugging it back in would cause it to work for another few hourse. Eventually the unit could not be restarted at all and simply rebooted continuously.
Being a scientist, I took the unit apart and inspected everything and could find absolutely no obvious issues.
but on reassembly, with the power on, I happened to notice that when I pressed gently on the green 2wire connector to the motor, the system will always power up and work properly. to my great surprise I discovered that the little green clip, which contains pressure fit connectors which simply cut through the wire insulation,
was not making a complete connection. the symptoms masquerade as a bad blower motor, and I'm sure replacement of the motor at great expense would have corrected the problem with this little clip. to my great surprise and great happiness, when I cut the clip off carefully matching the wires to the pins on the connector where they belong, and solder the wires on, the system worked correctly all the time. this is a manufacturing defect which cost me countless hours of lost sleep and troubleshooting time. if you are having this problem, talk to someone who knows how to use a soldering iron as this is a very simple fix (after one gets the headless screws out of the bottom of the unit - I was able to use the small standard screwdriver after using a drill with a screw extractor bit to loosen them. CPAP is 100% working now. be aware that the other clip assembly to the motor, with three wires is manufactured in the same defective way, and may also suffer from this problem.

Re: fix for Remstar Plus continuous reboot
Seriously? They are using a crimp type connection on a vital electronic component?
Nice find. This comes up sometimes. How hard to get access through the case to the motor?
