POLL: Smartphone Users? What are you using?

Post by Krelvin » Mon Dec 22, 2014 1:26 pm

Poll... Just curious what people are using for their Cell Phones now. This is more about SmartPhones broken down into classes. Newer smartphones have newer application options and sensors.

Would be interested if you have rooted or jailbreak'd your phone too.

I use a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Kitkat at the moment. Rooted since I got it.

Looking at the Note 4 but in no hurry as my phone works well, is well configured for me and I use it a lot, daily both for personal, business and medical purposes.

Galaxy S3. I update whenever possible, 4.4.2 now.
No rooting for me. I like being retired. I stopped writing code with Arc/Info AML, when the county upgraded to ArcMap.
I decided to challenge my mind with an Ipad Air. Last Apple product I'll ever own, SHMG.

Same as our froggy, though it's getting a little glitchy so it may be time for a reset or an upgrade.

Galaxy S 3 4.4.4 I use it a lot with Google maps, satellite view, when we are on the road. Helps when I can picture the business where we are going. Also to find services, motels, and restaurants, along with their phone numbers to call them. I have music downloaded that we listen to but wished for a truck with speaker connection. I have portable speakers but they can't compete with the diesel motor. Also connects my computer to the internet when I'm away from wi-fi, so there's no limit there what I can do, except for my 5GB.

Don't have a cell at all, but if I could afford the $80 (Can.) jump in my monthly bundle, I would get an iPhone (to sync with my desktop Mac), no question!

Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.4.2 but will upgrade soon to an S5. I love my phone but I've got battery issues, charging port issues & some general glitchy issues so after the holidays its off to the local Best Buy for an upgrade.

Ok,I'll be the contrarian. I use a Windows 8.1 phone which works great. I have all the apps I really need and I love the layout and simplicity of action. Also synchronises seamlessly with my PC universe. Best part? $25/month at t-mobile......

I use a Note 3 and a Note 12.2. Since I'm on the road more than I'm home my Android devices are my lifeline. I was able to 95% retire my ultrabook when I got the LTE Tablet. There are a few things I still need it for like a couple of my secure sites but it won't be long before that problem is solved. I love only carrying around the Android devices.

You gotta admit though that most of the sleep s/w is pretty lame on these devices. Anxiously awaiting the Android version of the HDM Nitelog so I don't have to tote this otherwise useless iPhone 3 around.

I meant in the comments - I see 23% of survey respondents have iPhones.
