S9 Problem

Post by Magicdave » Sun Dec 21, 2014 3:02 am

I've just noticed a potential problem with my S9 machine. Normally when I wake up in the morning and remove the mask, the machine continues expelling air for a few seconds then stops. This morning I've found the machine just continues producing air with a warning notice on the screen saying High Leakage warning. Could this be an issue with the mask or machine ?

Just checked settings menu - Smart start is enabled, and machine starts correctly when I put the mask on. It's just that it doesn't stop expelling air when I remove the mask. I guess I can just turn the machine off manually so it's not a major issue.

Me too - letting Smartstart stop the machine also screws up your leakage stats too by reporting the shut down as a long large leak. Not so smart after all, huh?

make sure your mask selection settings are correct, among other things, it's used by the machine in determining when the mask is removed, vs when you have a large leak.

funny, unlike the prs1 machine, my s9's almost never show a large leak when they smart stop.

note two smart stops below and no excess leak:

Ditto, my s9 doesn't show a spike either. I never use the button on or off.

mask settings are all correct. The fact it used to stop by itself when I removed the mask and now doesn't makes me think there's a fault with the machine. Was using machine last night without humidifier when this happened. Will see what happens tonight when humidifier is reconnected. Will also try a new mask if this might be part of the issue.

One of my S9s does, it appears - and I'll test the other next time I travel.

if using without the heatedhose, make sure that the hose setting is correct, also.

Quick update - last night reconnected humidifier and changed mask....and everything is working normally again ! Oh, well at least the problem seems to have gone away.

Did you unplug the power while doing this? I wonder if that might be the difference. Had you unplugged the power after it started doing this?

Are you still using the full face mask?
