Is software helpful with pr 60 series auto
I'm about to get a PR 60 series auto and I would like to know if the $99 software that is available for it is worth the money or if a free or cheap solution like Sleepy Head is enough or if I can get the data I need just from the screen on the machine. If someone could tell me what data is available on the machine's screen without any software, that would be helpful.

Just use the Sleepyhead. Save your money and you won't miss anything...really. There is more data revealed in a more useful format.
My original EncoreViewer software has sat in the box since 2009, while I used alternatives downloaded from other sources. You will find Sleepyhead easier to use, and much more useful.

Go here and request the clinician manual for your machine if you don't already have it.
http://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p ... tup-manual
The data on the LCD screen is severely limited.
AHI
pressure
and % of time in large leak
It may be sufficient for your needs...meaning if you don't have any large leaks and the AHI is nice and low and you are feeling great then you may not care about the software details.
SleepyHead actually gives more detailed graphs than Encore (no matter what the version).
I am going away for the holidays and may or may not be close to internet so I will go ahead and send you some information on Encore and you can decide for yourself which you wish to use...there's no reason to not use both if you wish.
No need to pay the $99 though.

The only data you will be able to access on the screen of that machine is:
AHI - 1-day, 7-day, and 30-day averages
Therapy hours - 1-day, 7-day, and 30-day averages
# of days you've used the machine at least 4 hours - in the last day, 7 days, 30 days
% time in Large Leak - 1-day, 7-day, and 30-day averages
Periodic Breathing - 1-day, 7-day, and 30-day averages
90% Pressure - 1-day, 7-day, and 30-day averages
Useful for a brief summary, but not at all sufficient to manage your therapy. Get Sleepyhead. No need to pay for software. Also no need to rely on your DME or doctor to read your card when there's free software to do it for you.

Sleepy Head is AWESOME. It has tons of useful data that's broken down REALLY well, and outshines sleep mapper (us3less, to me) and encore.
