Re: Z1 Auto battery charger

HDM had a desktop charger in the works but it never came to market. I have 5 batteries and I start charging them a day or two before an off-grid trip. Just so you know, a battery charged in the shell with the Z1 installed is only about 80% charged when the Z1 shows it fully charged. You should charg...

Re: Headgear is changing my skull???

I have indents from my glasses. These are definately just where my fat head has been compressed. As for my headgear, I use an Eson nasal mask and because of its design all my straps are quite loose and do not cause any indents. If you're wearing headgear which needs to be tight enough that it caused...

Re: Surgery/ Travel-sized CPAP?

Travel machine: It might depend on your definition of "travel a lot". I travel virtually every week via plane. I actually did stop using my cpap for a while simply because it was a PITA to *me*. A lot of folks who travel as much as I do get into what I call a travel depression where we see everythin...

Re: Which travel machine to choose?

The only concern I would have with this machine is that it is so small and light, you are likely to pull it off the side table. Finally, it has a 3 year warranty. Hehe, I've probably awakened in the morning to find my Z1 on the hotel floor, or dangling by the hose a hundred times. It's a very rugge...

Re: Which travel machine to choose?

If you travel by air you cant beat a travel machine. Owning both a full sized machine and a travel machine I can tell you that the travel machine is significantly smaller and lighter than my bedside unit even without the humidifier. I need humidification to be comfortable but I get by with disposabl...

Re: HDM Z1 travel incompatible with BPS batteries?

I just checked my Z1 brick and it's 1 amp so that's 120w so theoretically the BPS C100 and their 150w inverter should work provided it's a real 150w capacity.

Re: HDM Z1 travel incompatible with BPS batteries?

I just looked up your battery and it's a 12v battery. I run my Z1 Auto in my camper off 12v deep cycle but if the voltage drops a bit below 12v the Z1 automatically goes into standby because of low voltage....that may be the issue.

Re: HDM Z1 travel incompatible with BPS batteries?

Who told you, HDM? I don't see what an inverter has to do with anything as the Z1 runs off a 14v battery.

Re: Hissing Problem with Eson Mask/Tube Connection

I just tested my Eson mask by moving the elbow around and trying to detect a change in sound. I did not detect any change in sound. Are you sure it's not really the seal to your face leaking when you move and the act of fixing the hose position resealing everything? The Eson should be worn kind of l...

Re: Nasal mask with no vent is dangerous??

I used a similar mask for many years but then at my last sleep study they let me try an F&P Eson. The Eson is way more comfortable for me and and has a great seal and I've now been using one for about 3 or so years. If you decide to try another nasal mask, I highly recommend the Eson.

Re: SoClean Check Valve Problem

I have been using SoClean 2 for several years. It really does a good job of disinfecting. However, the last few check valve assemblies start filling with water after about one month of usage. I never had this problem when I first started using the SoClean. Does that mean that the check valves are de...

Re: travel sized cpap - anyone have one?

I've been using the HDM Z1 family since they came out. I travel by plane weekly and would not travel with anything else. Yes, it has altitude compensation to 8000ft I use an HME for humidity, works well enough for me. Travel has become such a chore for me that I wouldn't bring my CPAP if I didn't ha...

Re: Do I detach So Clean 2 black tube before using CPAP?

I have the ResMed AirSense 9 and So Clean 2 with humidifier adapter. I understand how to attach and use the So Clean 2 to sanitize the CPAP system, but once it's connected do I keep it connected or disconnect when I need to use the CPAP to sleep. I KNOW not to use the CPAP simultaneously with the S...

Re: Distilled Water for Humidifier

As long as you rinse the tank every day and only fill it at night you wont have any problems. I've been using a humidifier since 2006 and only use the water from my dug well which is right in the aquifer and never had a mineral buildup...even though it corrodes my copper pipes like crazy. And truth ...

Re: QTube In-Line Muffler Kit for CPAP

I've been using the Q-Tube for over a year and it works great with my HDM Z1A which is kinda loud without it. If you have noise being generated by the hose this will help. Thanks , have you tried it on the 60 series machine. Cheers Steve No, because I use humidification with that machine and I find...
