It's been awhile.

I joined this forum several years ago after being diagnosed with sleep apnea. Aerophagia was and still is such a huge problem. I came asking questions and getting quite a bit of helpful advice, but I soon gave up and assumed that I sleep would forever be screwed. I use my cpap religiously, but I'm n...

Re: Excruciating gas

I have always had gas from the cpap machine. My doc simply says take gas x which does nothing and wants me to take prilosec.
I have done both for a very long time and it doesnt even dent the gas

Re: Excruciating gas

I'm using air sense 10 elite with an airfit30 mask at a pressure of 10.

My diet is pretty spot on.

I eat a paleo diet with intermittent fasting. So I eat my first meal at noon and my last at 6.

I dont got to bed until 10.

Excruciating gas

Hi all. I posted here before many years ago when I started my CPAP therapy. I've always had the same issue with it and that is it causes painful gas to the extent it wakes me several times during the night. My belly will be fully distended with gas. If I sleep on my back with my chin tucked down to ...

Re: Cpap for 5 years and still tired

Is there another possible condition that I could be suffering from that I can have my dr. investigate? Of course there is another possible cause for the fatigue and in fact there is a very long list of potential culprits. http://www.mayoclinic.org/symptoms/fatigue/basics/causes/sym-20050894 Start w...

Cpap for 5 years and still tired

Hi all, it's been awhile since I have been on here. I have been on cpap now for five years. I use the machine every night religiously. I struggled with the machine for a long time, because it never made me feel any better, and because of the aerophagia. I'm used to the gas, I have accepted it as a p...

Re: Over what period of time does it take the body to fully...

It took me well over a year. With that said, I had to adjust my machine to fit my own needs. Can't use auto adjusting, can't use humidifier, can't use any setting that lowers pressure and then brings it up. I have to have straight cpap.

Has anyone thought about or tried Inspire

I'm really curious as I hate my cpap. I'm curious as to how far the implant sticks out of your chest? I heard its like a pacemaker, but I've never seen a pacemaker.

Also, curious about the price?

Re: Many issues resolved all at once (New mask and surgery)

I go to my pulmonologist Wednesday, and I may ask about this. I do not have GERD although my sleep dr. thinks I do. He put me on prilosec because I have extreme gastric insufflation or aerophagia (whatever its called now) I hate going to bed now. I used to love sleep, but now it is only a cause for ...

Re: I haven't been here in awhile

When I lost weight on an LCHF diet, the FIRST place I seemed to lose it was my face, and it really messed with my mask fitting. Are you having more leaks that cause more pressure and more air swallowing? I'm not a big believer in "lose the weight, lose the apnea" but maybe it's true in your case. H...

Re: I haven't been here in awhile

Have you seen your doctor about the problem? It could be digestive, and in no way related to CPAP. Horrible "gas"could be a sign of a gall bladder problem--or any one of several disorders. Some could be scary bad if ignored. I don't think its a gall bladder problem as it only happens when I use the...

Re: I haven't been here in awhile

The whole 30 is a simple diet. I can eat meat, vegetables, fruit (twice a day), and tree nuts. That's it. I am using an respironics apap. setting is 8-10. I have struggled with gas for three years with this thing. However, four the past four-five months I have only had minimal gas. Now for the past ...

I haven't been here in awhile

My cpap therapy has been working so incredible well... Until a little over a month ago. Now I am getting extremely bad gas again and its waking up several times during the night. I thought it would pass, but its been over a month and no relief in sight. The only thing I have changed is I have cleane...
