Re: Yet another newcomer with questions.

Welcome to the board Recusant ! From my own experience I'll address the mask. You can overtighten a mask which will induce leaks and pain. If you loosen the straps enough were you have a slight leak, lie down in the prone position. Now, while reclined like you'd be sleeping, position the mask where ...

Re: some advice for those struggling with CPAP

Seattleboy, Thanks for the link to the hose holder. I have been using a long bar C-clamp and velcro cable ties because most accessory sellers price their hose holders to a point that they want to keep it more than I want it. Thanks again. On a side note, getting the CPAP machine was the cheapest par...

Re: Question about periods of sleepiness

Are these sleepiness times sporadic or do they occur at or near the same time each day? Do they occur after food or beverage consumption? If so, how long after and what did you consume? Sorry for nothing but questions.

Re: sleepyhead software

Elmtree, Based on other posts that I've seen Windows 8.1 will write system files to the SD card if it isn't write-protected. This WILL mess it up, Big Time. Please make sure that you slide the protect tab to the locked position before inserting it into the card reader. Like I said in an earlier post...

Re: Humidity help as heating kicks in

Being a newbie I'm a little confused. You are stating the manual settings for a regular hose and not the ClimateLine that your profile is showing. The ClimateLine heated hose is usually set to automatic for the humidity when you connect it and allows you the option of setting a temperature. The defa...

Re: EPR ?

During my initial setup the clinician turned on my EPR. I found out rather quickly that it caused more problems than it did good. My mask would produce a "popping" effect that kept waking me up and also increased my AHI. I turned it off and things really settled down.

Re: sleepyhead software

Since your computer sees the SD card as a drive, you can create a folder on your computer and copy the SD's data to it. I do this on a regular basis just in case everything goes sideways.

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage

After reading all the posts, I'm feeling very fortunate. My primary, cardiologist, gastroenterologist, pulmonologist, ophthalmologist, and drugs are all on the advantage plan I've chosen at the cost of the part B only. The only one not on it is my dentist . . .of course he isn't on any insurance pla...

Re: Reviews of new AirFit P10 Resmed nasal pillow mask thread

I'm a P10 lover too! I'm into my 6th day with them, coming from a Mirage Swift II. My AHI has dropped from a 8.62 down to a 2.8 from the mask change alone. I'm definitely a convert!

Re: OT: Medicare Advantage

The advantage plans depend on which state and county you live in. While Cigna Healthspring has been operating in Georgia for years, it won't be starting in my county until January 1, 2015. This plan puts all the other plans in my area to shame and is the one I have opted to use. With that said, it m...

Re: Vaseline advised

Starting back in the 60's we used spark plug wire that was made with silicone rubber for racing. The advantages of this wire was its ability to withstand oil, grease, and hot headers. Based on my prior experiences, I find it hard to believe that petroleum jelly would damage the silicone seal. A few ...

Re: Nasal Mask Options

PaleRider, thanks for the link. I found very useful. I was comparing the P10 headgear to the Mirage Swift II's. With the M-S II you can lock the seal down so tight , you could inflate a tire without a leak.

Re: Nasal Mask Options

I too just tried the Airfit P-10 for the first time last night and fallen in love with it. I came from a F&P full mask to a Mirage Swift II to the P-10. You can use regular pillows and sleep in just about any position without problems. The only possible drawback to the P-10 is the non-adjustable hea...
