Re: Dreamwear
What am I doing wrong? I want to love the Dreamwear because it is very comfortable, but I can't get it to not leak no matter what I do. I used the sizing guide that came with it and I'm definitely a small, so it's not an issue of using the wrong size. The only way I can get it to seal is by really t...

Re: Frustrated Non-Apnea CPAP User
Just wanted to add that I just purchased a travel CPAP machine from Secondwindcpap.com. Not only did they not ask for a prescription (I live in the US), but they sent me an email asking me to respond about whether or not I wanted them to set the pressure and offered to help me set it myself once I r...

Need a mask suggestion
Apologize in advance for the long post. I started CPAP in 2014 after years of extreme fatigue and exhaustion. Two sleep studies showed an untreated AHI of 0.1, so clearly I do not have apnea. My sub-par sleep doctor gave me an APAP prescription for suspected UARS, I think just to make me go away. It...

Re: Boston Sleep Drs
If you're taking the T from South Station it would be much easier to get to MGH. I'm sure you could get to Faulkner, but it wouldn't be easy where MGH would be just a few stops on the red line. Also, I've been to many departments in both BWH and MGH and have found them to be more or less equal. For ...

Re: Boston Sleep Drs
Hi I live in Boston. I didn't particularly like my sleep doctor at MGH and didn't stay with her for very long. However, I know that there are very good doctors at MGH Sleep if you're lucky enough to get one of the good ones. Sleep study facility is really nice too - it's the hotel right next to MGH....

Re: If CPAP isn't working GET A SECOND OPINION
Thanks very much to everyone for your kind words and advice. I'm very lucky to have family and friends who will take care of me if and when the time comes and I'm optimistic that my life will not change drastically, at least for several years. Please send my thanks to Sarge. Pugs are the best. I hav...

If CPAP isn't working GET A SECOND OPINION
I was diagnosed with UARS in November 2014. The sleep study also showed some PLMD. I was prescribed an APAP at my own expense since my insurance wouldn't cover CPAP for my 1.1 AHI. I now think that the sleep doctor just wanted to get rid of me and also made it clear many times that I was to go to th...

Re: Airfit p10 Vs Swift Fx
I agree. Great idea. Combining the P10 pillows with the comfortable, adjustable headgear of the Swift FX would create the perfect nasal pillow mask.

Re: Airfit p10 Vs Swift Fx
I found that I didn't like the Swift FX due to the loud venting and air blowing on me. The P10 is much quieter. However, the headgear of the Swift is much better than the P10 headgear in my opinion. Between the two I would always choose the P10 because I'm very disturbed by loud venting. I really di...

Re: first night, hard to get used to cpap
I wanted to add to what palerider said. I wear a full face mask and Padacheek mask liners have made a huge difference in both comfort and leak issues. I also recommend buying more than one because they need to be washed every couple days (machine wash is fine) and you won't want to be without one.

Re: Need advice for flying and carrying CPAP machine
I flew with mine on Thursday. I had it all ready in a ziploc bag so that they could take it out and swab it.
They took NO notice of it whatsoever. I put the Resmed bag through the scanner and picked it up on the other side without a single question or comment.
Domestic flight, Boston to Orlando.

Re: support research on sleep apnea
I do!
Actually, I don't have 32 teeth. I have 33 uncrowded teeth. No dentist has ever suggested orthodontics or removing my wisdom teeth because it would be unnecessary surgery.

Re: My Periodic Soapbox Speech About Ramp
I have WAY more respect and faith in my vet than I did in my (former) sleep doctor. Plus, my vet actually seems to care about his patients.

Re: My Periodic Soapbox Speech About Ramp
Well said. I agree 100%. Thanks for letting us newbies know that the ramp feature doesn't work for everyone. While I was waiting (several weeks ) to get my machine I read a lot on this forum and was prepared to possibly not like the ramp feature. I ended up shutting it off within the first half hour...

Re: New Sleep test on the 8th
I'm sure the last thing you want to do is schedule a sleep study somewhere else and have to wait even longer, but could you find a sleep center in your area that offers sleep studies during the day? Some centers offer MSLT and MWT tests, which are tests that take place on the day immediately followi...
