BTW, I use the Auto-On feature.

I don't let no machine "think" for me. My finger is still good for pushing buttons.

so, which is it, sheriff? the machine thinks up what pressures to use for you, or you program in everything specifically?Sheriff Buford wrote:I don't let no machine "think" for me. My finger is still good for pushing buttons.

Re: Why Don't Suppliers Tell People About This?
I either sleep on my side or stomach and have had a couple instances where the mask (Airfit P10) either came off on it's own or i took it off. I woke up to a blast of air (leak rate was 4 and normally is 0) and quickly put it back on. Am i correct in assuming if i had my machine set to Smart Start there's a good chance it would have turned itself off automatically and i would have slept the rest of the night not knowing the machine (AirSense 10 AutoSet) wasn't operating?

I have a different machine and it has separate Auto-On and Auto-Off features. I use Auto-On, but I don't use Auto-Off for the very reason you cite.OffroadToy wrote:I either sleep on my side or stomach and have had a couple instances where the mask (Airfit P10) either came off on it's own or i took it off. I'm a little embarrassed to say that I am on straight cpap.... even with my bipap. I use the bipap when my chest is sore, but when things are hunky-dori... I use straight cpap.palerider wrote:so, which is it, sheriff? the machine thinks up what pressures to use for you, or you program in everything specifically?Sheriff Buford wrote:I don't let no machine "think" for me. It takes a second to turn off, so you'd still likely feel the blast.OffroadToy wrote:I either sleep on my side or stomach and have had a couple instances where the mask (Airfit P10) either came off on it's own or i took it off. that's one of the things I like about the vpap auto, it can pretend to be four other machines.

Same here, I turned that feature off. I don't like it. But if my cpap was hard to get to like the OP, I can see where it is a great advantage to use it.Woody wrote: On the one that does have it I
