I agree with you and am a big fan of continuous improvement in regular small steps.

I also am a fan of radical innovation that brings big leaps forward for the human species.

BTW, I use the Auto-On feature.
Lol! Okay

I don't let no machine "think" for me. My finger is still good for pushing buttons.

so, which is it, sheriff? the machine thinks up what pressures to use for you, or you program in everything specifically?

Researching what people say on different days and then 'catching' them is not fair!

I either sleep on my side or stomach and have had a couple instances where the mask (Airfit P10) either came off on it's own or i took it off. I woke up to a blast of air (leak rate was 4 and normally is 0) and quickly put it back on. Am i correct in assuming if i had my machine set to Smart Start there's a good chance it would have turned itself off automatically and i would have slept the rest of the night not knowing the machine (AirSense 10 AutoSet) wasn't operating?

I have a different machine and it has separate Auto-On and Auto-Off features. I use Auto-On, but I don't use Auto-Off for the very reason you cite.

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I am on straight cpap.... even with my bipap. I use the bipap when my chest is sore, but when things are hunky-dori... I use straight cpap.

It takes a second to turn off, so you'd still likely feel the blast.

well, certainly nothing to be embarassed about, other than misleading poeple with your stated pressure settings in your sig... sneaky of you! are you undercover here, or something

that's one of the things I like about the vpap auto, it can pretend to be four other machines.

Same here, I turned that feature off. I don't like it. But if my cpap was hard to get to like the OP, I can see where it is a great advantage to use it.
