Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Just to make sure I've got my models right - both the Dreamstation that I've been using for ~12-18 months, and my PR Auto 560 (which I kept around for backup) are affected by this, yes?

Re: Headgear for large head

The problem is that the Nuance Pro headgear is "one size fits all" with the Velcro adjustments so there's not a larger size of headgear to buy (at least not that I've found). I didn't even know there were masks that had different sizes of headgear to order. Guess I'll just have to bite the bullet an...

Headgear for large head

I've been happily using the Nuance Pro for over five years, but the last few sets I've gotten haven't fit well. I think they've changed the headgear - they used to come with gray headgear that was a bit "gummier", now the headgear is white and fits smaller (how it feels anyway, it's also not as stre...

Re: F20 nor Amara View working - what to choose?

I was somewhat under the impression that I needed a FFM, if nothing else as an extra mask, for when you get a cold.... Personal preference, really. I've used my nasal pillow mask every night for the last five years, even when I had a cold. I dial the humidity up a notch or two from where I usually ...

Re: Starting to think about a new machine

I would strongly encourage a spare. Full stop. Yeah, you're not wrong. What I'm thinking though is buying a new (or very gently used from a reliable seller) machine that'll become my primary machine, and keeping my current one as a spare since it's still in good shape. Now, which machine. Full data...

Starting to think about a new machine

Greetings everyone - been a long time since I needed to post here! (Yay, I guess?) The time has come to pick insurance coverage for next year (boo, definitely) and that's gotten me thinking about whether it's time to pick up a new machine. I've read on here that the "standard" life tends to be 5 yea...

Re: Trouble with higher pressure

Well, you seem to know what you're doing and unless the MDs report says something unexpected, I suppose you could keep doing it. I have the graphs, but always knowing what they mean and what to do about them is another matter entirely. I have done my homework and know quite a bit, but I definitely ...

Re: Trouble with higher pressure

I've got SH already, been using it from day 1. I'm at work right now so I don't have access to the info at the moment - any particular ones you want to see?

Re: Trouble with higher pressure

Short answer: I'm actually not 100% sure why. Long answer: My initial sleep study was enough to diagnose OSA but I didn't sleep near well enough to be titrated. I was prescribed CPAP with pressure of 7. Based on my numbers and my input, he increased it to 9-12 a month or so later, and that's where I...

Trouble with higher pressure

About a month ago, I was prescribed a pressure increase to 14-20 (APAP), after spending the previous six months at 9-15 and even lower for a month or so before that. I've spent the last month gradually increasing the pressure to acclimate to it, and a few days ago I finally hit 14. However, as the p...

Re: Adjusting to higher pressure

Even now with the P10 I might wake up with that back strap that starts out down at the base of my skull ending up on top of my head and the pillows are still stuck in my nostrils. I am all over the bed too...I toss and turn a lot because I just can't stay in any one position very long due to joint ...

Re: Adjusting to higher pressure

Thanks for the advice, Pugsy - I think I'll do exactly that. I set my min to 10 last night and had no trouble at all. Hi Jeff! I have a pressure of 23 and it does take some getting used to. I used to say it was a Hurricane going to bed and a tripical breeze by the time I wake up. Believe it or not n...

Adjusting to higher pressure

Finally got the results back from my titration study yesterday, and my pressure went from 9-15 to 14-20. I've been on a min pressure of 9 for the last six months, and it was even lower before that (7, I think) so this is a pretty big jump for me. I slept with that pressure last night and didn't real...

Re: THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE

I have an unopened 6-pack of disposable filters for M-series machines. I need System One disposable filters. (Not really pillows, I know, but it seemed silly to make a whole new post just for that.) they use the same filter. some people cut the little tabs off, some don't. Oh. Never mind then.
