I guess you have already researched on the internet. The brown Recluse is best dealt with not by poison, but by putting out lady bugs which eat their young, and thereby wipe them out in a generation. One can buy lady bugs by the hundreds, frozen at garden supplies. Let them thaw out, and they do the work. Poison often makes the problem worse, as it kills off the insects which eat the eggs and young of the bad spiders.

A Daddy Long legs is one of the good guys, If I were you, I would leave it alone. Here we have a thing called a Spider Hawk, which actually looks like the biggest mosquito of all time. It does not bite humans, but it helps to keep the spider pop down.

Yeah, don't be killing them as they are the best pest-control you can have and are highly unlikely to be going up your tubes.

Given the behaviour you describe, though, are you positive it's a daddy long-legs 'cause that really doesn't sound like them at all.

Well the common name is daddy longlegs but it's not the daddy longlegs I grew up with on the East Coast, which I suspect perhaps was not even a spider...that one had a single, roundish body and kids tended to catch it and pull its legs off, quite horrible.

The ones I see here in the house have elongated bodies and haphazard webs. They do look somewhat like mosquitos at first glance.

I wish i didn't have to eliminate him, but he's on the underside of my toilet. I can't sit there knowing he could pop out at any time LOL.

How about a cotton ball lightly inserted in each end (remember to remove before hooking up ) or a rubber band and some cheesecloth over the ends? This should allow excess humidity escape.

Nylon hose and an elastic band on the end of your tubing should keep any bugs out..

Cheers,

I didn't read the whole tread, so if somebody already mentioned this, here goes again: At bedtime, I make a habit of running my machine for ten seconds before I insert the filled humidifier tank, then I leave it running as I slide the tank in. Next, with the machine still running, I close the lid and slide on the hose. Once it did blow a small bug out of the hose. Spiders might be more tenacious depending on their size

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
