Humidifier reservoir top won't fit back on top of my S9

Post by Jjkbunny » Sat Oct 26, 2013 10:03 am

I woke up this morning and my reservoir was dry. I filled with water and now the top won't snap back into place. I have had it for about two months and it has always worked perfectly. Anyone else have this problem? Solutions? I have a Resmed S 9 Autoset machine. The grooves and slots won't fit back together.

The plastic collar with the slotted tabs has slipped down. Work your way around the collar pulling it up.

That happens periodically to me - especially when I wash them in the dishwasher.

I agree 100% with this remedy !

Yes that plastic collar slips down! I gave it to my husband when that happened to me and he fixed it right off! I just didn't see that when I looked it it. Lol!

Thank you both so much. I never would have thought of that. The collar had slipped down minuscully. I just repaired it. What I relief, I leave for a two week vacation early Monday morning. Thanks for the quick replies.

If you have trouble pulling the collar back up, go to the sink, and run water over it, and it will slide more easily. Hot water may work better.

Yeah, that's a scary feeling when it happened to me the first time. Oh no, is my S9 going to be in the repair shop for a week. The angle to reseat the lid to the S9 receiving tabs (referenced to the top panel of the S9) is somewhere between 40% and 60%. Sorry, never actually measured it! You can just gently fiddle around until the lid slides into place. As others have mentioned, you first have to deal with the semi-circular clip.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Yes, warm water works well...the plastic ring expands more than the metal tank and gets very loose and easy to move. Noticed that when washing the tank in warm, soapy water.

First time, hubby watched me struggle and cuss for a bit before he straightened me out.
Love that guy, but sometimes, I could just kick him!
