I have probably had that for years, you don't want to tell anyone, don't ask for special treatment it will put you fair and square at the top of the firing list! Have to change your schedule or get a job where punctuality is less important... it has done tremendous harm to me, but I know better than...

I had a Resmed humdifier which only stayed on if I tied it with string to the main machine, otherwise the indicator light would go off. Resmed denied it was a problem and told me thay I probably didn't realize that the room was humid enough and so the sensors were turning it off. I tried to explain ...

I woke up every couple of hours when I was first on CPAP, even though I used to sleep through the night when untreated. It may have been the discomfort of the contraption, or the increases of pressure. It made no difference whether I was getting APAP or CPAP. Worse still, I often imagined it was mor...

Don't count on software and data to help you evaluate if you are feeling better. I have my data, every night's pressure and AHI and AI and leak rate for the last 9 months, and still not sure of the benefit. It is easy to read some of the enthusiastic accounts of people whose lives have been turned a...

Look Christy, your marriage probably needs some attention now....the way you describe it things were pretty bad for 6 years. It would actually be a pleasqant and unusual surprise if the diagnosis of OSA and the treatment of cpap cured everything. But even if it did, give some time to start coping wi...

I have been on it for a long time, the only real difference is no night sweats. When I complain to my doctor that I am waiting for the big energy boost etc. he says "You never complained about feeling tired before, so how can you expect a change?" And maybe he is right. Honestly, not everyone notice...

I have the impression that most doctors don't believe in autoPAPsm maybe they make them feel redundant. My sleep doc only agreed to prescribe it because he is a friend and colleague and I begged. My tutration study was a disaster, I hardly slept and felt terribly sick afterwards, even the official r...

And I have just started with the Swift 2, replacing a Swift original model. I find it quieter and less of the annoying stream of air exhaled in front. BUT the new mask is hard and hurts my nose a bit, not suffering as badly as I did originally but still sore in the mornings. I hope it doesn't take t...

50+, only sign of it was sweating around the neck which started after a bad car accident with whiplash etc. in 1990, never really snored (sleep study reported intermittent soft snoring). I cannot stay asleep through the night since I started c-pap, Back in the good old days before diagnosis, before I even suspected anything was wrong I would hit the pillow and sleep, waking up with the alarm clock 6 hours later and drive myself hard through a long day. Now, I wake up at least once o...

Kim, I have some of your worries too. But.... You sound far too bright to be consigned to ant-depressants without getting other support to lift your spirits. I hope this isn't an example of an HMO general practitioner or internist putting you on antidepressants without sending to a psychiologist or ...

I wonder if there are often concomitant factors, such as depression, poor circulation caused by obesity and/or diabetes, exhaustion etc. If we subtract those causes, we may find that there is a much smaller subset of untreated OSA patients with oxygen desaturation, for whom OSA alone produces erecti...

I think you should consider two possibilities (both apply to some extent to me): 1. You didn't know what tiredness was, you just pushed yourself along. Now you know what it is and you feel it, and that upsets you. 2. Even though the CPAP is doing some good, but since you are not yet used to it you s...
