New Oxy ClimateLineAir for Airsense

Post by TangledHose » Tue Nov 25, 2014 12:17 pm

I got tired of waiting for ResMed to release an Oxy ClimateLineAir heated hose for the new Airsense, so I made my own

Interesting. There are adapters that go between the hose and the mask. This looks very convenient.

Yeah I have used the adapters at mask end in the past, but then you have two hoses to deal with -- the CPAP air hose, and an O2 line running up to mask as well. I had been using the S9 with the Climateline Oxy Max hose, so I stole the orange O2 connector from old Max Oxy Climateline and sort of copied ResMed's design on that hose with the new AirSense ClimatelineAir -- works just fine and did not interfere with any sensors or wires by drilling hole in the white plastic end cap of the new hose - problem solved

Their S9 max oxi hose that I copied:

I would NOT be surprised if that's pretty darn close to the product-- when they finally have it.
It looks like the designers had the oxy port in mind.
(And I imagine their anticipated price difference is unjustfiable)

No longer need O2, thank goodness, but had an 02 port that fit between the cpap and the hose, and a little port where the oxygen went right in. Would that be for some other purpose?

The port you speak of works just fine if you are using standard non-heated hose, however if you use a "heated" hose that is not an option because the heated ClimateLine hose has to connect directly to the machine so the electrical connections will function properly, so nothing can go between hose and machine when using ClimateLine hose.

that won't work with the heated hoses, due to the electrical contacts.

I wonder how long it will take Resmed to "get off the pot".
This is not a major product--just an accessory, but cold is coming and O2 folks need their stuff.
