Buy an unheated hose online. They're really cheap from our sponsor, cpap.com, or from e-bay.

You don't need to stick with ResMed hoses. Respironics unheated hoses work just fine.

The main effect I've seen from running out of water is the smell. It will wake me up before the water tank is completely empty.

I think it's more a question of the crud in the water than the tank overheating. Even distilled water has some crud in it.

If you don't want to take the humidifier off, you can leave the tank empty and just set the humidifier to zero.

And doing a darn fine job of it, too.

The thread was bumped up to the top by recent posts.

On the S9, you can simply takeoff the humidifier and use the hose connected directly to the blower.

I just got a heated hose, and it fits on the blower with no problems. (just ran upstairs and checked)

If I were using my humidifier in a moving truck, I would be sure hat you have the newest tank, which has better baffling. You really do not want the water leaking outside of the tank.

Good luck
