Re: DreamStation Go - First Impressions

I agree 100% with Flyoverguy's assessment of the Dreamstation GO. I have had mine for a couple of nights and find it works well. The biggest downside is the lack of humidification. But as often as I use it, I can get buy without the humidifier. Although, when one is available I will probably opt for...

Re: Recommend a minimal nasal mask

After using the P10 for a year (and really liked it) I had a problem with it putting too much upward pressure on my nose (adjusting the straps did not help enough) so I decided to use the DreamWear mask. I like the DreamWear mask a lot except during the night when I lie on my side the nasal pillow b...

Re: Resmed Airfit P10 Headgear Advice Needed

I used the P-10 for quite some time and thought it a great mask. To adjust the upward pressure of the pillows you need to either "spread" the two straps apart (which lessens the upward pressure), or keep them closer together (which increases the upward pressure). Just takes some playing with to get ...

Re: Sleep mapper

How do I get my resperonics sd card to up date to sleepyhead? The card is fixed in the modem, so I am not able to put it into a slot on a computer. Thanks, I am new on forum, and new to pap, struggling a bit. If I can figure out how to get data maybe y'all can help. There are a couple of possibilit...

Re: Sleep mapper

i have the Phillips Sys One and I have a question regarding the modem. How does it connect? Do I need to connect to a phone line ? Can I use the modem AND a Bluetooth adapter?? Rick Rick, Yes, the Modem does it's own thing as it is a cellular modem and it reports back to the DME (the company which ...

Re: Looking for someone with knowledge

Jordie, There are many on this list who might be able to help you, but we need a little more information to help get started.... It would be helpful to know what country or city you are in and what type of insurance or healthcare program you are participating in. We may need other information as wel...

Re: RhinoSinusitus (or something like that)

BDZ, No offense taken.... I was just honestly responding to your situation as I saw it. You are correct in that attitude is so important. It's the "long timers" such as yourself and Pugsy (and many others too many to mention here) who make this list so valuable and helpful. I really appreciate your ...

Re: RhinoSinusitus (or something like that)

My sinuses were ruining my life. I did not have the pain, but was experiencing balance issues, dizziness and lack of focus...along with what I call a 'cotton stuffed head' syndrome. I dug out my old Oracle and following the instructions given by JDS74 have made a successful start back into the use ...

Re: RhinoSinusitus (or something like that)

"Try your heated hose. Remember you have to go into the clinical setup menu to set the humidity and give the setting of 2 a try...there's a reason that ResMed elected for 80% on their S9 machines as the automatic default. If going by the majority of people...that setting works well. It's a good star...

Re: RhinoSinusitus (or something like that)

49er,

Thanks for the feedback....

As you mentioned, I too didn't have much success with a plain saline rinse. After I try the humidification changes which Pugsy recommended, I might try Alkalol.

Re: RhinoSinusitus (or something like that)

Pugsy, Thanks for the quick reply... I was using unheated pass over humidification at a setting of 3 and at a setting of 5 with no apparent difference that I noticed. I can try adjusting it again though. I don't have much of a need for heated humidification as rain out isn't really a problem where I...

RhinoSinusitus (or something like that)

It's been almost a year of very successful APAP usage....Got my AHI down to the .50 range with a 9cm lower limit. I am convinced it was worth it and plan to continue it.... BUT, I need some feedback on a problem. As you know, sometimes when you solve a problem, you cause other problems. I have used ...

Re: 1st Night P10 Pain

Some_guy, I agree with your description of the mask and pillows. Where it made a big difference to me was that the "Large" pillows seemed to keep the hard part of the mask (where the pillow snaps into the tubing/holder) angled away from my upper lip which was causing the rubbing and irritation. The ...

Re: 1st Night P10 Pain

I have been using the P10 for almost a year. I found that using a larger pillow size sealed better and kept the hard plastic away from rubbing my upper lip area. What most don't realize is that the narrow elastic straps can be "spread" apart so that the rear elastic band is much lower on the back of...

Re: Irritated Sinus Passages with nasal pillows?

OakyDoky, Thanks for the tip... I don't seem to have a problem with the lower nasal passages, it's only in the sinus passages and I doubt that the gel coating would be of help with them. At first, when I was given the mask I picked out the medium size nasal pillow and it rubbed my upper lip raw and ...
