Condensation - Temp Fix...
Condensation - Temp Fix...
So.. had my first run-in with condensation last night. Pretty annoying. Considering ordering a wrap(live on the Gulf Coast so I think a heated hose would be overkill), but has anyone ever sewn their own hose wrap and had success?
My wife has some fleece in the closet. Figure why not give it a shot since even if I ordered it today the cold snap would be over before delivery.

Re: Condensation - Temp Fix...
Many people have done so...some have even used socks with the toes cut off......whatever works.

Yep...my first hose cozy was a homemade one. Ultra cheap and lazy made...just wrapped the fleece around the hose and secured with scotch tape (I don't sew anymore). Wasn't real pretty but got the job done.

Sweet! I'll try to tackle this after the gym tonight!
Re: Condensation - Temp Fix...
I just went to Wal-Mart and got some Velcro wraps (four will do nicely) and wrapped the hose with the fleece and secured it with the Velcro.

Why sew one up? Here's a brand new fleece tube cover for $10 plus shipping... it's made by a member of CPAPtalk. To slide it over a hose with rubber cuffs you need to put some cellophane over the end of the hose secured tape or whatever... that way it slips in easily. It has no zipper so that's the reason for the cellophane. Other than that small detail, it's a great and very comfortable hose cozy. I use one every night:

Did I mention it's only TEN BUCKs.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
Re: Condensation - Temp Fix...
The plan is to buy one, but that wont help me for the next night or two. Was just going to cobble one together with stuff around the house as a stop gap. Hair ties work to hold covers on too.

I used old socks and zip ties. Still didn't help with rainout. But I run my humidity pretty high. Setting of 4-5.

Just in case - is your machine/humidifier on a higher level than your head? If so, put it on something lower... water can't run uphill.
