Heated hose problem with PR System One 60-series

Post by ButtonPuncher » Thu Nov 20, 2014 1:22 pm

Hi Everyone,
I'm a new CPAP'er and have been using my setup for about two months. As of the last couple days, I've been having problems with the heated hose. About a minute after I start Therapy, the hose will heat up. But then within another minute or two, the heater shuts off blowing cold air. I normally have the heat set to 5 to get a comfortable amount of heat out of the system. I thought that this might be overloading something so I reduced it to 4, then 3, then 2. No matter what, the heat cuts out.

Has any one else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's a problem with the hose itself, or with the main unit. When I plug in my unit , it says V3.06. Possibly an old firmware problem?

Thanks,
Ben

Double check that the plug under humidifier lid is plugged in and not loose. Also, check clinician menu to be sure it's set for heated hose and unit registers that the hose is attached.

If TattooedLady's ideas don't yield anything....are you physically close to where you can return the hose to the supplier and have it checked out at their store?
Maybe even take your machine with you to make sure that the problem isn't somewhere in the machine itself beyond the lid plug in or machine recognizing the hose.

I quadruple checked the hose connection and have even inspected the connectors (I'm an electronic technician). I'm probably going to grab my Fluke and check the resistance tonight. Wiggle it around to see if there's a break. BTW, I'm guessing that there's 3-pins because there's power, ground and temperature sense?

I've been in the clinical menu and I think it says heated hose model 15D or something like that with a lock symbol next to it.

My DME is only 15 minutes away so I think my next step is swapping out the hose for another one.
