Narcolepsy - What it looks like

Post by BleepingBeauty » Sat Nov 01, 2014 6:48 am

Interesting video. I can't imagine how devastating it would be to try to live with this.

Scroll down (below the video) for more information. It's much more common than I thought (about 1 in 2,000).
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Dx 11/07: AHI 107, central apnea, Cheyne Stokes respiration, moderate-severe O2 desats. (Simple OSA would be too easy. ;))

PR S1 ASV 950, DreamWear mask, F&P 150 humidifier, O2 @ 2L.

Thanks for sharing the link BB. A relative has wondered if I have narcolepsy in addition to sleep apnea. The only thing I had experienced that was remotely similar to what this person mentioned was having microsleeps while standing up in a desperate attempt to not fall asleep prematurely. Have come close to falling down but fortunately caught myself in just the nick of time.

Anyway, I will see what the sleep study says in a few weeks and then ask the doctor in my follow up appointment about whether she thinks Narcolepsy needs to be explored.
