I have a Fitbit Charge which monitors sleep... and by that I mean it can tell when my arm doesn't move for a while lol.
It does a pretty good job of tracking how long I was in bed, and how many times I turned over, but that's about it.

Re: Weight loss to get rid of sleep apnea?
I got my Cpap machine Oct 30 2014. Since then, well Oct 15th is when I started my diet, I've lost 125 lbs through diet and exercise. My average pressure has increased as the pounds came off, not decreased. I'm going the wrong way to get off it lol. Honestly, after you settle into a routine and get a...

Re: Lost 42 lbs & wonder if I need new sleep study
I got my machine 4 months ago. Since then I've lost 100 lbs, now run (well elliptical) 4 miles a day, lift weights, eat healthier than ever, and get actual sleep every night... I feel like a teenager again after I get moving. The joints still need some warm up time lol. BUT my average pressure is a ...

Re: Chin Straps?
I tried the old Alfalfa toothache trick with a bandana.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm about to buy the real deal myself. I like the looks of this one.

Flow Limitation
Flow Limitations... I get the definition. "Flow Limitation is a partial obstruction of the airway as detected by a change in the shape of the flow signal." Can I look at this as a partial obstruction? My airway closed slightly but not enough to classify as an OA? Or could this also be a crimp in the...

Re: Vitamin B-12 Oral Supplement
I went to a plant based diet. Why would you do that? You are fighting millions of years of human evolution and evolution will win. Lol. Ample research on both sides of the plant based eating vs. including animal/dairy products way of eating. No need getting into the specifics for either side, howev...

Re: Vitamin B-12 Oral Supplement
I have taken one every few days since I went to a plant based diet. A lot of processed vegan food has it added, but I'm trying to avoid the processed stuff and focus on whole/fresh foods!

Give your cat some time. In the meanwhile, get prepared for when she no longer fears the mask, -----and tries to bite it! You may also consider the possibility that sometimes kitties will step on the power button, and you now have time to rig a shield. +5 - my first two short hoses are patched near...

Next on the list... a new mattress!
So, I've been on my Cpap machine for almost a month and things couldn't have been better. Just can't say enough about how much better I already feel. BUT... I'm thinking a new mattress may help even more and plan to go shopping this Friday or Sat. Was going to be looking around the $1200 to $1600 pr...

Re: Condensation - Temp Fix...
Why sew one up? Here's a brand new fleece tube cover for $10 plus shipping... it's made by a member of CPAPtalk. To slide it over a hose with rubber cuffs you need to put some cellophane over the end of the hose secured tape or whatever... that way it slips in easily. It has no zipper so that's the...

Condensation - Temp Fix...
So.. had my first run-in with condensation last night. Pretty annoying. Considering ordering a wrap(live on the Gulf Coast so I think a heated hose would be overkill), but has anyone ever sewn their own hose wrap and had success? My wife has some fleece in the closet. Figure why not give it a shot s...

Re: Nasal Mask Options
If you get a chance, try a P10. Pillows not over the nose and very low venting Last night was my first night trying the P10 after using the Mirage FX for only 7 days... Granted I haven't spent 10 months getting accustomed to the Mirage, but the P10 was incredible. Venting was much softer and more q...
