ResScan software

Post by journey93 » Fri Oct 31, 2014 11:21 am

Right now SleepyHead is not reading the data on my S9 Escape correctly. I want to try ResScan, but cant figure out where to get the software.

Your problem isn't the software ...it's the Escape itself. It doesn't gather any data beyond hours of use.
See this blog especially the part "help I am stuck with a brick".

I would be checking on swapping it for a full efficacy data machine then you can use either SleepyHead or ResScan.
But here's how to obtain ResScan if you need additional proof that it is the machine and not the software that is the problem.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

If you want to try the Eclipse mask and want a special promo code to get a little off the price...send me a private message.

I just saw your question in another thread where you say you have the S9 Escape Auto.
That model only collects 3 data points...AHI, pressure and hours of use.
There's nothing else showing in Sleepyhead because there is nothing else to report.
You have a half assed brick...and mainly on the brick half.
Plus it uses an outdated algorithm to treat you..
Previous advice still stands...swap it out for full data and in the auto models that would be the AutoSet.

Thanks so much for these replies. I did get resScan and was able to see the pressure and AHI summary. I may send a zip folder of my SD card to SleepyHead to see if it can be updated to capture those meager data points.

I have made inquiries on upgrading to ResMed S9 Autoset. Waiting to hear what it might cost me.

What detailed data would I get with the S9 Autoset? Would it have daily plots showing apneas with time stamps?

you get very detailed data:

Detailed data
Apnea or hypopnea events (sec) as happens.
Flow limitation (flat to round) 1/2 Hz
Leak (L/sec) 1/2 Hz
Minute ventilation (L/min) 1/2 Hz
Pressure (cm H 2 O) 1/2 Hz
Snore (quiet to loud) 1/2 Hz

High resolution respiratory flow data 25 Hz

that gives you charts that look like this:

and you can zoom in on them and see details of your breathing like this:

well, lets see if switch is possible and how much the DME wants. I called ahead and asked about Model and mentioned I would use software. They forgot to say "Escape", so they are feeling sheepish.

But there is <$300 diff online. I hope any difference through my DME is not too much more.

Thanks again. Great help here.

as you'll read over and over here when you have some time to dig, insurance typically pays by code, and your bargain basement model and the autoset are the same code, the DME is just trying to scam you by giving you something that costs them less, so they make more money.

the DME did switch out for a ResMed S9 Elete at no cost. Said the BC/BS payment was generous enough to cover the higer-cost unit. Seem you were right about paying on "codes"

anyway, I start to night collecting real data. thanks for your help.
