Re: Choosing a Battery

Of the mistakes listed above, the only one I may have been making is not using Airplane Mode. I assume that means disabling the cell phone connection. How do you do that?

Re: Choosing a Battery

I use an Airsense 10, but I was recently given a Dreamstation Pro. Will the Dreamstation go significantly longer on my 33 AH CapnLoki-rigged battery than the Airsense does? The Airsense can't seem to get through two nights between charges. I can't really figure this out from the Resmed battery guide...

Re: Travel Battery for African Safari

This is the closest thread to my current question: When using batteries and DC converters, is a Dreamstation more efficient than an AirSense 10? From this thread it sounds like it is, although from the tables I've been looking at in both the user manuals, it sounds like the Dreamstation is a lot LES...

Re: power pack

The 10 runs on 24 volts and requires an expensive "Converter" to connect to 12 volt batteries. It's about $90 and the whole board seems to agree that there's no hack to get around that. There's a different converter to connect to the batteries that ResMed sells (which are also 12 volt).

How much ventilation needed when charging battery?

I've set up my battery etc. and used it for two nights in a row. ResMed AirSense 10, pressure avg a little over 12, the first night had the humidifier and heat, the second night without. Now it's time to recharge. I have the U-1 battery in a typical Small Battery Box, with vents. That, the 24V conve...

Re: New Battery and Amp-Hour Data

Thanks. It fits. The two quick connector plugs from the two brands look exactly alike.

Re: New Battery and Amp-Hour Data

Thanks. In the meantime I found a chart which made me understand something that must be obvious to many of you, but which I hadn't had occasion to think of before: A 1-amp charger will take roughly one hour to restore one amp-hour to a battery. I hadn't really thought about what the amps number on a...

Re: New Battery and Amp-Hour Data

"Larger batteries" means considerably larger than the 35-ish AH U-1, right? Because I'm preparing for camping, not a backup system. One night charging it, then one night using it, etc. [/quote] As a long term "battery tender" the baby (0.75 amps) is fine. If you want to charge larger batteries in da...

Re: Connecting to battery terminals

I'm a lawyer, and I'm used to looking for what people AREN'T saying -- when I went back to look over the old threads again, I saw you saying the Battery Tender had something that seemed to mean that you could have ONE set of wires permanently attached to the battery, and those wires could connect to...

Re: Connecting to battery terminals

I've started searching through the board for "bolt" and found this so far, which is very encouraging and is a consummation devoutly to be wished, if it pans out in my case: Capt Loki wrote: >The BatteryTender should come with a cable that has a red and black ring connector on one end and a "quick co...

Connecting to battery terminals

I'm gathering the parts for my Capt. Loki rig for tent camping. I've bought everything but the battery and battery box. ISSUE 1: I found a Carstart 1000 jump-starter at my house, and was thinking that I'd try and see if it worked OK for a CPAP before going ahead and buying the U-1 battery. To save m...

Re: New Battery and Amp-Hour Data

The BatteryTender charger is a "last a lifetime" item that can charge (all be it slowly) an automotive battery, and you priced the big one, not the $25 baby. I got the idea from your landmark posts that I should get the $50 one, but I forget why. The Junior should be fine for my purposes if it can ...

Re: New Battery and Amp-Hour Data

Went back and looked at the SUAOKI's worst reviews -- sobering. A couple people noted that it says right on it that it's 20,000 not 60,000 -- hopefully that just means that the 20,000 is the figure for 12-volt use. Several noted flimsiness of this or that part, so that certain ports would never work.

Re: New Battery and Amp-Hour Data

AH. So if they were putting out that low voltage, to power a USB device or something thru the USB port, they would be 60 AH, but putting out 12 volts from the 12-volt connection, they'll be around 17 or 18.

Re: New Battery and Amp-Hour Data

Following up on my earlier message, I see there are a couple other 222WH inverters at the same price or $10 cheaper. With even more broken English in their descriptions on Amazon -- I don't know if that is a red flag, but it might be. https://www.amazon.com/Generator-60000mAH-Emergency-Rechargeable-...
